About this mod

This mod was simply meant as a fix for the upgraded jobs, but has now expanded into a lot more. These sprites were all custom-made by myself. Enjoy!

-------- v1.0 --------

This mod is simply a fix for the upgraded jobs. It changes them from their current design based off of the original NES version to be more based off their GBA version, with a bit of creative liberty and keeps the beautiful style of the Pixel Remaster on top of that. These sprites were all custom-made by myself after a few weeks, and thanks to the help of the Moogles & Mods Discord, finally came to fruition.

The Knight receives his crown back as well as his cape. His armor also changes back to silver like the GBA version, too.

The Ninja gets his helmet and belt, simple. And changes the color of the Ninja back to green, as it's a more fitting color.

The Master gets the long robe back, but with a bit of adjustments to it. He also has his ponytail back, so that's neat.

The Red Wizard did not change much, but he got some more details that he lost, back.

The White Wizard is unhooded still, but retains the same hair color as the basic White Mage, and the red strokes on the robe glow in the magic-casting animation, which I thought would be a cool touch.

The Black Wizard remains the wholesome boi he always was, with his neat wizard hat with the green bandana, and for a bit of creative liberty, I gave him a moon accessory like the Black Mage job in Final Fantasy 5 has, and it glows in his casting animation, too. He also has a neat little green jewel that glows in that animation, too. Definitely the one I'm the most proud of in all of these!

I did this over a traditional GBA Sprite mod due to the fact that it'd clash too much with the rest of the Pixel Remasters in my opinion, so I figured this would be a good compromise.

-------- v2.0 --------

With a new version comes an overhaul. The upgraded jobs were polished and modified to match the brand new base sprites, while also adding gender variations as well as the overworld sprites I forgot to add last time! (Sorry about that...)

All sprites remain custom made, while basic off the original PR versions to keep consistency.

Most of the design aspects from the old version remain, but with more flare in some cases:

Warrior becomes blonde again, like the GBA version

Thief gets his Bandana back, as well as a scarf, because scarves are neat.

Monk is probably the biggest difference, quite literally being a reimagining of the GBA version of the Monk.

Red Mage barely needed any change. But for the sake of not leaving him unchanged, I changed his eyes slightly.

White Mage's hair becomes blonde, again, like in the GBA version.

Black Mage also did not need much change, it remains the same, but just moreso facing the enemy like in the GBA version.

Knight retains the same aspects as v1, while fixing minor attributes and colors in order to match his Warrior counterpart.

Ninja retains the same aspects as v1, while fixing minor attributes and colors in order to match his Thief counterpart as well as fixing some animations and in the case of Skill Ready animations, making a new one.

Master, again, is the most changed, made to match the GBA version more.

Red Wizard retains the same aspects as v1, while fixing minor attributes in order to match his White Mage counterpart.

White Wizard retains the same aspects as v1, while fixing minor attributes and colors in order to match his White Mage counterpart.

Black Wizard retains the same aspects as v1, while fixing minor attributes and colors in order to match his Black Mage counterpart, as well as changing the Green colors on it into Cyan for some extra flare.

And ofcourse, the female versions are essentially the male versions, but made more feminine, with a few exceptions where creative liberty was taken.

Also, a text file was included in case you needed help on setting it up or wanted to know more about the background.

Enjoy!
