The Ultimate CRT/Projector Simulator For Retro Gaming!
I made this mod with a simple purpose: make it possible to feel like an 8 year-old all over again, when I first started Final Fantasy VII on my crappy 12-inch CRT TV for the first time.

- Permissions and credits
This is a very heavy ReShade preset that includes many shaders, all tweaked with the goal of perfecting the look and feel of a classic PlayStation 1 Final Fantasy game.
I have tested it on many games, Final Fantasy titles but also modern RPG Maker games and other pixel art style stuff.
it works great in most games. Please note that not all presets work with all screen resolutions.
2560x1440 and above: every preset should work 100% like intended.
1920x1080 and below: playstation 1 and 2 preset can show artifacts, other presets should work fine.
1280x720 : HD presets are broken, other presets should work fine
Other resolutions: not tested (feel free to report glitches)
it features 7 presets for all situations, including Nintendo, PlayStation 1 and two resolutions, vertical or horizontal scanning, HD resolution for modern gaming with a CRT simulation without loss of crucial detail, and a projector simulation preset.
All presets come in two flavors: light and dark, making it 14 presets total. They are meant to simulate high TV brightness settings and low TV brightness settings, as most people will have had different CRT TVs as a child, so you can choose which one triggers the most nostalgia for you :)
Keyboard controls:
Insert: toggle menu (not recommended)
Home: switch between presets
End: Turn the effect on and off
I feel happy with the result as is, I have spent hours on end tweaking it to make it as optimal as possible, fixing many issues such as:
-banding
-loss of detail
-artefacts
-bloating
-highlight burning
-shadows crushing
-etc
What the mod does:
-bring that low res goodness to your brand new 4K HDR monitor
-add scanlines
-corrects colors
-corrects contrast
-corrects gamma
-adds bloom
-adds vignette
-clarity adjustments
-perspective adjustments
-debanding
-triggers tears of nostalgia ;)
What it doesn't do:
-buy real CRT for your living room
-deliver pizza
-end world hunger
-correct your own monitor's crappy color calibration
Feel free to use with any other game, the mod is highly compatible, but you may have to reinstall Reshade to a different game if it doesn't react to dxgi.dll
