About this mod

Offers various optional tweaks, such as improved MP Regeneration, level 99 enemies in Hard Mode, 3 ATB bars, and casting magic without using ATB.

Permissions and credits
This is a combination of my previous two requested mods, which garnered a lot more attention than I expected, with some extra additions due to demand! If you like what this mod does and want more difficulty/sturdier enemies, consider my other mod, Foes - Soldier Edition.


Base Tweaks:
These tweaks are included in all files by default (with the exception of ATBLess Magic)

  • Level 99 - Now properly supports players leveling up to 99 (Red XIII, Yuffie and Sonon included)

  • Red HP Overlay is removed - The red warning overlay that appears when a character is at low HP is now gone.

  • No Base Tweak Versions - There are now optional files that exclude these changes for those who just want the optional tweaks.

Optional tweaks:
These tweaks can be optionally bundled together in any assortment.

  • Enemy Level 99 - Enemy levels will be set to 99 when in Hard Mode instead of the default 50.

  • ATBless Magic - All Magic can now be cast without consuming an ATB gauge. There is also an option to include instant magic, so all spells will be cast with no animation delays. Note: you still need at least 1 gauge to be charged before you can start casting! There's a video example if you're curious!

  • MP Regeneration Improvements - Offers improvements to MP regeneration, mainly to subset the scarce MP options in Hard Mode.

  • 3rd ATB Gauge Segment - Every character now has a 3rd ATB gauge.


MP Regeneration Tweaks:
Hard Mode severely limits MP usage, preventing the use of items and additionally preventing benches from restoring MP, making MP management somewhat scarce. While yes, you can save and reload at Mako boxes, it's a pain to do this every time you run out of MP. This is exacerbated by difficulty mods which might be increasing enemy stats, making fights longer, thus needing more MP over time. Players using magic-focused builds/characters outside of the Synergy Materia may also struggle to see the fruits of their labour in hard mode. Even with all of this aside, players might just want to be pure spellcasters, regardless of difficulty!

MP Regeneration Mechanics:
By the game's default, players will receive 1 MP for every 20 seconds in battle only, and MP regeneration is completely halted when not in battle. This mod is somewhat of a compromise, by enabling passive MP regeneration when not in battle, and also optionally affecting the number of seconds the player has to wait to gain +1 MP, allowing players to tweak or preserve the difficulty to their liking.

Note: When installing a mod that includes Enhanced MP Generation, you will get several files. These just tell the player how fast the ticks will occur per second. Drag just one option into your ~mods folder. Installation instructions are below!

0.5s - Players will gain 2 MP per second
1s - Players will gain 1 MP per second
2s - Players will gain 1 MP every 2 seconds
5s - Players will gain 1 MP every 5 seconds
10s - Players will gain 1 MP every 10 seconds
20s - Players will gain 1 MP every 20 seconds. This is the game default.

ATB Gauge Tweaks:
Adds a 3rd charge to each character's ATB gauge. I haven't figured out how to add the UI change yet, but will potentially update if I figure it out. For now, the gauge goes into the limit bar, and flashes blue when charged.

Vs Refocus:
This mod's extra gauge is different to Refocus in 2 ways. Firstly, Refocus splits the 2 gauge UI into 3, making it possible to attain 3 charges within the same time it would take to charge 2 normally. This mod essentially just adds a regular 3rd charge, so Refocus still has some use for its speed if you wish to use it. Unfortunately, you do not gain 4 ATB bars using the ATB gauge mods in addition to Refocus.

Secondly, Refocus is only usable once per battle on a single character for a limited time. This mod enables the extra charge for all characters with no time limits.



Compatibility with other Mod(s): 
Warning: Due to the way the game loads files (many of which being the exact same file), these tweaks will likely not work with other mods that alter the ATB bar, or generally anything similar to what these mods touch! If you'd like to use these mods, the other mod(s) must be removed or stored somewhere else. Unfortunately this is the best workaround I can offer for now. If there's a big enough request for certain features, I'll add them over time. The ones here were just the most requested of me for now.



Installation:
Because of the way the game loads its files, the installation process has to be somewhat modular. I have tried my best to categorize and segment each of the gameplay tweaks so that it's easier for players to load just the changes they want.

Choose which mod you want to install. It can either include one, some, or all of the features. Please check the Files section for more information. 

Once selected, drag the .pak file into your ..Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade\End\Content\Paks\~mods folder. If you do not have a ~mods folder, you can just make one.

With the exception of the ATBLess Magic mods, you can only use one of the mods at a time, so please decide which features you wish to include/omit and then select the appropriate file!
