About this mod

The Mod is very basic, it is just a reskin of Cloud's outfit, and its own name says it all: A reskin that makes logical sense with PJ Cloud Strife and his CGI and menus in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

More details in the description.

It's something simple actually, it's just a reskin for Cloud, so that it looks as close as possible to how it appears in the CGI cutscenes and menus from Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Like I say, it's just a reskin, so it doesn't have a very heavy background work, though ... finding the color for the clothes has been a real headache.
The game has a slightly dubious quality lighting system ... and the reflection that the material of Cloud's clothing has, always makes the color turn bluish, so finding the balance has not been easy although the final result I really liked it, I must admit.

It has a color tone thanks to which, in most cases, the soldier's uniform looks black (what a SOLDIER 1st Class would look like), but at the same time, depending on where you are and how the lighting affects you, the uniform can appear a very dark purple shade (what a SOLDIER 2nd Class would look like) and sometimes very dark blue (what a SOLDIER 3rd CLass would look like).
This same feeling is what Cloud's clothes give me when I see them in CGI cutscenes; you don't really know if it's black, purple or blue, and maybe that's the charm of the SOLDIER 1st Class uniform, which is actually a bit of everything.
The images I use to compare do not have the same lighting as the one I found in the game, so it is normal that they do not look 100%. Even so, the end result is really very similar, I personally love the result, so I advise downloading it and trying it out for yourself.

Not only do they change the color of the SOLDIER 1st Class uniform, they also change all the colors in the leather, in the metals, and in everything, to be as close as possible to the outfit that Cloud has in the CGI cutscenes of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

In the end it is just a reskin, but I really like the result and it is the one I currently use. I hope you guys enjoy it too.

New Version - SOLDIER 1st Class:
- Some color fixes.
- Clothes material is now "velvet".
- The main color of the clothes is still "black".
- Now it reflects correctly in "purple" and "blue" tones.

Old Version - OPTION 1:
My second attempt at making a 1st Class uniform for Cloud as close to the CGI cutscenes from Final Fantasy VII Remake as possible.

Old Version - OPTION 2:
My first attempt at making a 1st Class uniform for Cloud as close to the CGI cutscenes from Final Fantasy VII Remake as possible.

Miscellaneous - Velvet Range:
- Added various color options.

** I recommend New Version - SOLDIER 1st Class **

This mod only contains the files to modify the color of the uniform.

Now I'm going to drop a good text on why Cloud Strife should wear this color on his uniform during the events of Final Fantasy VII 1997, and also Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is something very simple, but I made this mod for a specific reason, so I want that if someone decides to download it, they also understand my reasons.

Many will think that Could Strife's clothing is, or should be, purple in Final Fantasy VII, but none of that is real. Cloud escapes with Zack from a Shinra base, and this is seen at the end of the game "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII".
Both, when escaping, are dressed in SOLDIER clothes that were in the base, and those clothes were SOLDIER 1st Class, and the color is precisely what defines the rank of a SOLDIER.

- Blue: SOLDIER 3rd Class.
The lowest range of SOLDIER. Roche, the SOLDIER who appears on a motorcycle in Final Fantasy VII Remake, is a 3rd Class SOLDIER.

- Purple: SOLDIER 2nd Class.
The middle range of SOLDIER. Zack, is a SOLDIER 2nd Class in "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII" much of the game, being his clothes purple.

- Black: SOLDIER 1st Class
SOLDIER's highest rank. Zack, manages to reach SOLDIER 1st Class during the events of "Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII", and his clothes go from being purple to being black. This one has purple and blue reflections, uniting the 3 colors of all the SOLDIER Classes

When SquareEnix released Final Fantasy VII for the first time in 1997, he had several plot errors, and also did not expect to have the fame and recognition that he had for this game, so many of them were overlooked. With the growing wave of fans for Final Fantasy VII and its entire World, the colors for the SOLDIER Classes, which previously varied depending on what game you played, was standardized in Crisis Core, but not corrected from previous installments.

I know that many will like Cloud dressed in purple better, personally I think he looks great on him, but the real color that Cloud Strife must wear in his SOLDIER 1st Class uniform is black. Not only that, but over the years Cloud has been identified with a totemic animal, the Wolf, and his representative color has always been black. In later events such as Final Fantasy: Advent Children, Cloud Strife's color has remained a predominant black, as it is the representative color of him within the Final Fantasy VII saga.

That's it, hope you enjoy it and make more mods over time.
Greetings.
