On Steam Deck (and potentially other systems, perhaps), the game's text font may not be rendered correctly, resulting in some errors that can make the text difficult to read, such as lowercase letter 'i's looking like lowercase letter 'L's. If you experience this error, you can try using this mod to fix it.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Copy the "winmm.dll" file into the main folder of your FFV install directory. (NOT the "resources" folder!)
Then, go into Steam and open the properties for Final Fantasy V. Under the "General" tab, scroll down to "Launch Options" and enter the following text EXACTLY as it is below into the "Launch Options" box:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm.dll=n,b" %command%
After that, close the properties window and try launching the game.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This mod is ONLY for the 2015 Steam version of Final Fantasy V. This is NOT compatible with the 2021 "Pixel Remaster" version or any other version of the game.
