Version 1
Compatible with the August 2022 Steam update
Some of the overworld tiles for Final Fantasy III PR have a faded and dithered appearance. Especially the grass. While this was likely done to be faithful to the structure of the NES graphics, the tiles stand out against FF 1 and 2 PR, which were based on the much more detailed Wonderswan/PS1/GBA overhauls.
This mod replaces the two grass varieties and the marshland tiles used by the overworld with entirely new ones. They are less dithered and have greater contrast, and subjectively may help hide some of the repetitive patterns. The other overworld assets have also been slightly to moderately recolored. The desert tiles have more contrast and the large mountains now have blue and white snowy peaks instead of the pale yellow from the original tileset.
To install, just extract the included UnityPlayer.dll file and FINAL FANTASY III_Data folder to your FF3 PR game directory and overwrite the original files. It would be wise to make a backup of the original files included in this mod first just in case something goes wrong.
