Gives the four main party members (Firion, Maria, Guy, and Leon) FF Record Keeper-style sprites inspired by their appearance in the opening FMV of the PlayStation version.

This mod gives the four main party members (Firion, Maria, Guy, and Leon) sprites in the style of the mobile game Final Fantasy Record Keeper (which based its sprites on Final Fantasy VI), inspired by their appearance in the opening FMV (full-motion video) of the PlayStation version.
When Record Keeper released a FMV Maria model, it seemed a no-brainer to put that into the Pixel Remaster, but it also made sense then to create FMV-style Firion, Guy, and Leon to match. I didn't entirely match their looks - I had to strip down some detail, and I kept Guy and Leon with their vanilla Record Keeper hair rather than the weird receding hairline/widow's peak thing they had going on in the FMV - but overall I did my best to capture them! (While the Emperor also appears in the opening FMV, there was no way I could capture all that intricate detail in a 16x16 map sprite, so I didn't even try.)
As these are Record Keeper-style sprites, I highly recommend accompanying it with Final Fantasy II Pixel Keeper (FF Record Keeper Sprites) to make sure the other characters playable in battle - Minwu, Josef, Gordon, Leila, and Ricard - also use Record Keeper-style sprites for a more unified look. This mod's sprites will replace the lead four's, while Pixel Keeper's sprites will remain for the others. In-battle mini and toad sprites are included, as well as regular and toad portraits.
Many thanks to FFRK for the initial FMV Maria sprite, as well as for the bases I used to create the others (Guy and Leon took their regular RK models as basis, while Firion is based on FFXII's Vaan for the hair), and to gvdn on the Moogles and Mods Discord server for permission to use their Firion portrait (seriously, theirs looks so much better than the crappy version I initially had!).
Installation instructions:
First you'll want to install BepinEx and Magicite; a great guide for installing both (as well as many other Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster mods) can be found at https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787152070. Once Magicite is installed, extract the FMV Characters directory into your Magicite mods directory, which is usually under FINAL FANTASY II PR/FINAL FANTASY II_Data/StreamingAssets/Magicite. (If you don't have a Magicite directory there, just create one!)
If you run into issues, it may be because using Magicite tends to result in long filepaths, which if you installed Steam in the default location, can lead to some filenames/paths running up against the limit (this can especially be an issue with map sprites). If that's the case, try renaming the mod directory to something shorter (like "FMV") and see if that helps!
