Going Below Zero with Subnautica

  • Comment
With the upcoming early access release of Subnautica: Below Zero, we've added a new option for Mod Authors to make copying their pages from Subnautica to the new title super easy.

Unknown Worlds are launching the stand-alone expansion to Subnautica in early access on the Discord, Epic and Steam game stores. Set in an ice-bound region of planet 4546B, after the events of the original game, Below Zero will offer a new chapter in the Subnautica universe. Core gameplay mechanics such as base building and the open-ended exploration will be built open with new ones such as thermal management and more voiced dialogue to immerse you in the plot.

Authors of Subnautica mods can copy their mod page, including images, videos, description, tags and permissions to a new Below Zero mod page. The new options will appear on the mod tiles and at the top of the "Manage my Files" page. We hope this will save you a lot of time so you can focus on making your mods compatible with the new game.

NOTE: The Subnautica: Below Zero game site will be public as soon as the first functional mod is uploaded, it will not appear before that time.

If you're interested in getting your hands on Subnautica: Below Zero you need to keep an eye on the countdown at Unknown Worlds official website

We're really excited to see what new and unique mods our community create for this game. Let us know your best mod ideas for Subnautica: Below Zero in the comments below.

Nothing like being overcome by events. We need this option with Enderal mods! :)

Why not just make a category for Below Zero mods like it is for Enderal mods on the Skyrim page?

I believe it's because below zero is a stand-alone title so it'd be more like comparing Skyrim to say Skyrim: SE

Technical limitations, compatibility issues that may crop up; etc. Not everything will be intercompatible so shoving it all under one banner provides a poor impression to the end user. Like the Skyrim example previously mentioned, if I download a mod for S:SE and it doesn't work in original Skyrim then I know that is made clear because of the separation of modding areas. If it was all clumped together you'd have an endless barrage of posts to modders on 'why this no work' and such.

and such I really think it smarter to hold off modding a game till it out of Early Access because you'll never know when your developers changed they will brake a mod take Space Engineers for example soon as the developers up date that game 40 or so mods brake
