It just means to zip (pack) and unzip (unpack) files. Zipping is compiling a file, making it smaller. You can't do anything with a file when it is in that state, but it makes it easier to upload and download. That is why you will often receive files in a zipped state and have to "unpack" it. I hope that helps.
hola a todos alguien sabe en que carpeta estan las texturas de los personajes las texturas de los personages ya descomprimi partch.fat y no las encuentro
I have tested Dunia Tools v1.0.2.4 with Far Cry PRIMAL (v1.3.3) intensively, and would like to share my experience here.
* Unpacking main FAT archive works * Repacking main FAT archive works, but the game crashed when I tried to use the "full" repack * For modding anything in the game (except the HD textures, see below) there is a workaround. Basically it works like the Wingsuit Mod: Rename patch.dat/fat to patch_sound.dat/fat, repack your mod into new patch.dat/fat and move that files patch.dat/fat into "data_win32" directory. * Unpacking HD textures FAT archive works * Repacking HD textures FAT archive works (the "full" repack was accepted by the game) * For modding the HD textures, the only technique I know is a "full" repack (containing modified files) of the HD textures FAT archive * The FCB<->XML converter does NOT work. The binary \fc4_dunia\Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertXml.exe was programmed in 2012, targeting Far Cry 3 * The RML<->XML converter does NOT work. The binary \fc4_dunia\Gibbed.Dunia2.ConvertBinaryObject.exe was programmed in 2012, targeting Far Cry 3 * The Texture XBT<->DDS converter does NOT work, BUT I found a workaround for modding Textures
Workaround for modding Textures: 1) Unpack the texture files which you want to mod. They have the file extension ".xbt" 2) Open an empty file using a hex editor 3) Open a .xbt file using a hex editor 4) Inside the .xbt file, cut out everything before the String "DDS", and insert it into your empty file. Do not close the hex editor 5) Save the .xbt file and rename its file extension to .dds 6) Now you can edit the .dds file using e.g. Paint.NET 7) After saving your .dds file, rename its file extension back to .xbt 8) Open the .xbt file using your (still opened) hex editor, and paste the data which you cut out before, back into the .xbt file (at the beginning) 9) Save the .xbt file. Now you can use that modified .xbt (texture) file for your mods. The other "empty" file is not needed anymore Note that, if you have HD Textures installed and set to on, then some .xbt (texture) files from the main FAT archive will be ignored
same bro :( i am trying to make a mod with Dunia Tools Called "Rise Of Udam" like, the player plays as ULL and leads the udam tribe, but the thing is is that the game crashes when launching, I same wanna know why
Despite this tool perfectly worked in far cry 4 when I converted .fcb to .xml to modify weapon FOV, It doesn't seem to convert some of the .fcb files in far cry primal. In my case its exact the weapons (bows) I wanted to change (remove zoom ). Hope author will fix it one day, cause Primal is quite unique in series and certainly has lack of mods.
