- Updated the mod to support the newest mod installer format and made it possible for users to select their weapon fov from values 75 to 120 in steps of 5.
14.08.2021:
- Updated the ScavengerMod packages to support "Advanced Shotguns ND", Unreleased Variety ND Revision 2" & any future FC3 & 4 weapon imports. - Added ironsight fov flamethrowers.
I've been asked why I don't change the ironsight fov of the weapons. It simply makes it too hard to aim and is a huge hindrance to gameplay. Weapons will also then clip through the camera.
No, FC6 uses a more advanced and complicated system. I am developing one for it, but one piece is missing for it to be just as good as the ND and 5 version.
I really want to. I just have trouble with parachute weapon fov. Can't find where that is defined. Tell me, should I still release it like that on the Nexus and put up a "help wanted" notice?
Any chance for a version of "VFM_NDE_115_Extreme" that works with Scavenger Mod? Or a version of that combined with Unreleased Variety would be awesome.
I'm referring to the "Extreme" version that you had done with different values per weapon. I really preferred that one, but I have no idea how to combine it with Scav. I liked the 100 fov for most weapons, but 85 for pistols, etc. Felt really good.
I will have to write a new tutorial about this, since I updated the mod. Download any of the scav.zip files and unpack the a3 file (it's just a renamed zip). There, you can find the fov values and change them (they are human readable). To add the pistols with a value of 85, you will have to look at one of the tutorial packages https://www.nexusmods.com/farcry5/mods/31?tab=files
Download the "Own package tutorials" file, as I don't have made a proper new tutorial for the VFM yet.
I figured it'd be as easy as just changing that Float32="90" to "100" but that didn't work.. It's too bad I can't just type the FOV value for each weapon individually. I'm trying to learn how to do the "own package tutorials" thing but I'm not really sure what to do to separate pistol values from the others with it's own package..
Would the old mods not work anymore? I remember there being an Extreme and Super version of your mod from about 3 months ago that was perfect, with different values per gun. I really liked the values you chose for each one.
Edit: I actually found an old version of the mod on my HDD from September, and while the values work (it's the Extreme one that had different values per gun), it *also* removes all the text in menus/HUD, since it's the FOV mod + Unreleased Variety. :( Dammit. Do you happen to remember which of the files were affecting FOVs, and which were affecting Unreleased Variety? Maybe if I just remove the latter files from the .a3 I can get the FOV part of the mod working fine.. This is what's inside it: https://i.imgur.com/AG78EHh.png
You want the file nomadobjecttemplates_rt.fcb. Weapon properties are inside it. You can remove the other files, but be sure to modify the info.xml which came with the mod, as it tells the Scavenger Mod which files it has to replace.
