About this mod

A small compilation of combined Far Cry 3 mods for the best visual enhancements including Muds Reflective Textures Mod, Rex Power Colt Skin Mod, ArdiPINK Pack Mod, and Paradise Lost ReShade. This mod is mainly for messing around with NPC's. Outposts, Cinematics, etc., and not for actually completing the story (unless you want to of course).

For a long time, I've always preferred to have the best graphics I could possibly get with Far Cry 3, and this mod compilation I've put together defines that. A combination of custom skins for weapons, higher resolution textures for the environment, NPC’s and the player, better lighting and ambience and a Sci-Fi robotic arm was exactly what I've wanted, and here it is!


WHAT MODS ARE IN THIS COMPILATION?

The mods you will find in this mod compilation includes the following: 
  • Muds Reflective Textures Mod v5.2 (High weapon FOV)
  • Rex Power Colt Skin Mod 
  • ArdiPINK Pack Mod (Weapon Skins Mod Beta 1.0)
  • Paradise Lost ReShade

**A little side note for people familiar with how to use Gibbed Dunia 2 Tools: I did leave the "patch" folder in the mod compilation folder to save you time in case any of you guys would like to tweak around with the files by adding or removing mods that you can then repack with the tool and use for your own use.**

HOW WILL THIS MOD COMPILATION AFFECT YOUR FAR CRY 3 EXPERIENCE?

If you wish to know what each mod does, please look above and click the links on what mod page you are curious about, or read below for  short summaries on each mod. Be sure to give thanks to the original creators of each mods, as without them this would not be possible!

**NOTE** this mod compilation will require a beefy computer as the visuals are noticeably enhanced, upscaled and will use more memory on your computer.

Muds Reflective Texture Mod: This mod made by mud87 brings all new sorts of textures to Rook Island, ranging from new pirate/privateer outfits, new car textures, enhanced gameplay mechanics such as more attachments on guns, starting a new save with a wing suit, & more.

ArdiPINK Mod Pack: This mod pack made by ArdiPINK will introduce various new weapon skins that are available to almost every weapon in the game (see images for some examples), and also features some mods from Ziggys Mod.

Rex Power Colt Skin Mod: This mod made by ErnestoDadushe is real simple. The mod just replaces your first person character model with the one from Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (robotic arm and new outfit for Jason).

Paradise Lost ReShade: A shaders preset made by justabunchorandomnumber that makes Rook Island look better graphically, improves lighting & the overall feel of Far Cry 3.

**YOU ALSO NEED TO START A NEW GAME AFTER INSTALLING THIS MOD COMPILATION AS PLAYING OLDER SAVE FILES WITHOUT THE MOD COULD CAUSE ISSUES. DONT WORRY, THIS MOD SKIPS THE INTRODUCTION OF THE GAME AND IMMEDIATELY PUTS YOU AT THE PART WHERE YOU WAKE UP WITH DENNIS.**


INSTALLATION

**BEFORE INSTALLING, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR IN GAME SETTINGS FROM DX9 TO DX11 AND HAVE A CLEAN, NON-MODDED INSTALL OF FAR CRY 3.**

1. Download the Mod Compilation
2. Extract all files to your Desktop (Preferably in a folder or wherever you would like it, just remember where you put it.)
3. Locate your Far Cry 3 Game Directory Installation

Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Far Cry 3

Ubisoft Connect Launcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 3

4. Click into the "bin" folder in the Far Cry 3 directory and drag & drop the "FC3.dll" and "FC3_d3d11.dll" from the mod compilation.
5. Replace files that already exist if the prompt comes up.
6. Click into the "data_win32" folder in the Far Cry 3 Directory, and drag & drop the "patch.dat" and "patch.fat" from the mod compilation
7. Replace files that already exist if the prompt comes up
8. Open "ReShade_Setup_4.5.4" from the mod compilation folder
9. Select "Click here to select a game and manage its ReShade installation"
10. Click "Browse" on the bottom right
11. Find the "farcry3.exe" from the game directory and click "OPEN"
12. Select "Direct3D 9"
13. If any pre checked effects are available, click "Uncheck All" in the bottom left hand corner (do this anyway if nothing appears.)
14. Click "OK" on the bottom right hand side
15. Go back to the mod compilation folder and open the folder "Paradise Lost Redux"
16. Drag and drop the following files into the "bin" folder of Far Cry 3 Installation Directory: "reshade-shaders" folder, "Paradise Lost Redux.ini" & "ReShade.ini"

17. THIS STEP ONLY APPLIES TO UBISOFT LAUNCHER USERS!
a. Open the "Paradise Lost Setting" notepad file in the mod compilation
b. Copy the text written on the notepad
c. Go back to your Far Cry 3 Installation Game Directory in the "bin" folder
d. Locate "Reshade.ini" and open it in notepad
e. Under [GENERAL] where it says "CurrentPresetPath", replace the text on that line with the text you have copied, (it should now be set to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 3\bin\Paradise Lost Redux.ini, as before it was set to the Steam Directory which will be incompatible with the Ubisoft Connect version.)

18. DONE!

**NOTE** If you experience crashing when trying to open Far Cry 3 after installing the mod compilation, run "farcry3_d3d11 in the game directory in the "bin" folder, (this was the fix for me, this may not work for everyone so let me know in the posts.)
