About this mod
I spent 20 hours tweaking NattyDread's SweetFx preset. If you want your game to look incredibly realistic and get 10-15 more (inb4 appropriate skepticism) frames per second, take 5 minutes out of your day and follow these instructions.
YOU HAVE TO USE "FARCRY3.EXE", NOT "FARCRY3.D3D11.EXE".

Credit to the creation the CoolRuler 1.3 SweetFX config goes entirely to NattyDread. I just figured out the contrast stuff.

STEP 1:
Drop all 8 included files into your:
SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/FarCry3/bin
folder.
STEP 2:
Go into your
My Documents/MyGames/FarCry3/GamerProfile
Set SSAO Level to "0" and save the document. This step is quintessential!!!
STEP 3:
Put these settings depending on the in-game time:
Day: (ultra everything w/ ambient lighting on medium, shadows and post fx on low, anti-aliasing on 4)
Brightness - 31
Contrast - 31
Gamma - 97
Night: (nothing changes quality-wise)
Brightness - 10
Contrast - 10
Gamma - 30
You need to turn down the brightness on your computer screen to 0/10 to get the full effect of night mode! Trust me!
If you're wondering why it's so dark, it's because it's emulating the realistic darkness of night time. This mode relies on you using your sense of hearing and acute strategy just to survive. For hardcore players only.
REMEMBER, YOU HAVE TO USE "FARCRY3.EXE", NOT "FARCRY3.D3D11.EXE";
THEY'RE BOTH IN THE /BIN FOLDER! DON'T FORGET!!!
But if you turn on DirectX 11 in the in-game settings, you can still use Alpha to Coverage and SSAO methods, don't ask me why.
Have fun!
