01. What and Why

This file can be considered a cheat, yes a definite cheat; instead of having to hunt and scavenge for diamonds throughout the game, this savegame contains 999 [virtual, sorry] diamonds.

I started the game with character Paul Ferenc on Normal difficulty. This save places the main character at the Weapons Shop near Mike's Bar.

IMPORTANT SIDE-NOTE, READ THIS CAREFULLY: at this time you have not finished the tutorial, so do not use any of the official cheats !!!!! Only enable those cheats once you have visted the priest in Pala and your back on the streets again -the game will prompt you that the tutorial is over; save your game into a new slot and enjoy your wealth.
I will reiterate: to safely use this save file, you must start your game with the official cheats disabled !!!! [END SIDE-NOTE]

Some purchases were made, as this was necessary for the CheatEngine to determine what values were related to the diamonds, in order to add 999.
From here on out you can purchase whatever weapons have been unlocked, as well as unlocked upgrades.

You must then check out your new purchases in the armory next door.

Then it's off to Mike's Bar where you are to meet your new buddy -the guy you liberated under orders of the UFFL. Talk to him so you know who can help you with your malaria symptoms. Talk to the reporter at the table. When you receive your new quest -to head into Pala and visit the priest- proceed to your new destination. Talk to the priest and follow the instructions as they pop up on the screen. Once you leave the church, the tutorial will end. Save your game and if you wish to use the official cheats, exit to desktop and re-start with cheats enabled.

02. Requirements

- Official patch 1.03[b]; I use the Fortune Edition [this adds some additional DLC weapons; the character does not have any of them equipped.]
- an archive extractor such as WinZip, WinRar or 7-zip; the last-named is free.

03. Installation

- Download the archive to your HDD.
- Use your virusscanner of choice to verify that the archive is clean [I checked it with ESET and got the green light, but better be safe than sorry.]
- Extract the archive with the utility of your choice.
- Copy the contents to your "X:\My Documents\My Games\Far Cry2\Saved Games\" folder; this depends on your OS -I run Windows 10, 64 bit.
- Start your Far Cry 2 game with official cheats DISABLED !!!! [if you never use them, you have no extra precautions to take.]
- Load the save game and play til you finish the tutorial; then -if you wish to have the official cheats enabled- save, exit to desktop and restart with cheats enabled.
- Bob's your uncle.

- remove the save game when not playing the game.

- none that I am currently aware of; just make sure you meet the requirements -if you do not, then either proceed at your own risk, or simply do not use!!!
