I have tried this mod a couple of times and it causes my game to crash to the desktop whenever i try to enter whitesprings. I am sure it is something I have done wrong, can someone maybe give me a hand. This is what my custom ini looks like:
Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of the country. I haven't tried putting it in the sResourceArchiveMisc line so I'm not sure if it works there. Try changing your custom ini to this:
thank you for getting back to me, it was well worth the wait. i see where i made my mistake. i tried the ini you posted but my other mods would not work, so i used my old ini and added silent whitespring hotel.ba2 to sResourceArchive2List where i should have put it in the first place and it worked like a charm, i knew i made a mistake somewhere. thank you for your help! i can now go to whitesprings without muting the game :-D [Archive] sResourceArchive2List = SeventySix - 03UpdateMain.ba2, SeventySix - 03UpdateStream.ba2, SeventySix - 03UpdateTextures.ba2, SeventySix - 00UpdateMain.ba2, SeventySix - 01UpdateMain.ba2, SeventySix - 00UpdateStream.ba2, SeventySix - 01UpdateStream.ba2, SeventySix - 00UpdateTextures.ba2, SeventySix - 01UpdateTextures.ba2, SeventySix - MeshesExtra.ba2, SeventySix - GeneratedMeshes.ba2, SeventySix - 02UpdateMain.ba2, SeventySix - 02UpdateStream.ba2, SeventySix - 02UpdateTextures.ba2, Silent Whitespring Hotel.ba2, UHDmap.ba2
Thanks, it was very enjoyable! Glad you got it all working now. I haven't tried loading any mods under sResourceArchiveMisc so I'm not exactly sure how it works. I just keep updating my Archive2List to match new update patches. It sucks having to update it every patch but it works.
the new 'Misc'' line was added because it doesn't seem to change on every patch. Mine was also working just fine until patch 8...and then the exact same crash. I removed all mods and the problem went away. Installed just the silence mod and it returned. I haven't tried to put it back into the '2List' line, but it looks like this might help. I appreciate this little mod....the music gets so annoying. thanks for the work and support on this.
Yeah, I tried it with the Misc line and it CTD's for me as well. It still works fine in the Archive2 line. I wish Bethesda would come out with mod support for the game already and have a dedicated line for mods that doesn't require an update to the Custom.ini every patch update. Unfortunately this mod requires being in the Archive2 line to work :/

Was also wondering if there is any chance to make vendor bots in general silent?
Glad you like it! I've tried looking in to silencing vendor bots but there was way too many files I would have to silence. That was as far as I went with it.
That's fair. I figured they share the dialogue, but now that I think of it there are too many bots themselves. Thanks for the reply!

Hello Kelthrayden and thank you for the great work! I have a bit of an issue, i would not call it a bug because it's most likely my fault. The mode does not seem to load/work for me, i have tried with both the custom ini generator and the mod loader, but still to no avail, most likely because i have a ton of mods in place and i think there is a limitation to their number and loading order. Can you please help me with this? Thank you!
Also, If you know how to use the BAE (Bethesda Archive Extractor) or Archive2 (in the Fallout 4 creation kit tools) I would suggest merging all of your glowing items mods together to cut it down from 40 ba2's to 1.
I finally had some time to get back to the game so i did as you have suggested: packed all the glowing stuff in one single ba2 and now it works like a charm!
The only music that annoys me in the game is the theme music in the main menu and the atomic shop, there seems to be no volume control for these and is way louder than in game music. If you could silence these that would be fantastic.
Though as annoying as that "elevator music" was, it always bothered me a hell of lot less than the voice lines that all the idiotic named robot spout off repeatedly. One can only hear a Mrs. Nanny say "I'm sorry, we don't accept walkins" so many times before you really, REALLY start to miss being able to kill NPCs that are pissing you off...
I've tried to trace back where their sound files are so I can mute them, but I can't figure out where they're stored. This is one of those areas where XEdit is not all that helpful for tracebacks, and there's no CK to look at things with. I can trace back to their voice lines in the controller quests, but that doesn't tell me what the name of the associated audio file is. So short of checking every single audio file in the various voice and FX folders... Not much I can do.
...Sorry, what I meant to say was "Great mod!" n.nU
Thanks! and damn you to hell!! Now that's all I hear too...(shaking fist). No I know what you mean though. I'm the opposite. I can tune out the robots repeated responses, but the music was a constant ear rape that made me want to throw kittens out of a closed window. I'll have a look around in the files and see if I can find them for you.
I looked and found the Ms. Nanny files but there are 333 files you'd have to go through to find the different phrases she has. That's a lot of files to convert to find those specific ones.
However it does look like they're named as their FormID's so you might be able to match them using xEdit that way.
