been playing Fallout4 ultrwide for a while. i thought the extra resolution was killing my fps. but i recently noticed in options before game start-up, windowed mode is checked and grayed out. i dont know anyway around this and currently i dont think there IS a way. can someone confirm?
I can confirm the adjustment works, but there are some inherent flaws that the poster of this video ought be absolved of entirely; this probably needs a bit of actual game tweaking to make seamless.
The devs of the game clearly didn't plan for ultrawide monitors straight off the shelf, as evidenced in the screenshots below; the power armor HUD cuts off rather sharply on the left and right (you can see a less glaring example of this in the mirror scene at the end of the video), and the UI text stretches to the new resolution--but oddly, not so the backgrounds for the UI elements.
Again, hardly gamebreaking, and it does allow for some beautiful panoramic views, but if someone ever writes a mod to tweak the UI to handle this resolution, then it'll be bloody perfect:
Doesnt work for me as still just opens in 1920x1080 rather than 2560x1080. Weirdly its pushed to the left hand side of the screen rather than centered but still doesnt work
Do you not have to do anything to the aspect ratio settings? (dont know if there hidden in the preference as well?)
