There's a remade version of VAFS out there now by Itzal713 and it includes it's own Horizon patch.  I recommend using that over this and the original VAFS mod.

While that remade version has official support for VAFS I will not be maintaining this patch.  Thanks for all the downloads!

Unofficial patch for VaultTec Accelerated Focus System and Horizon.

I'm feeling pretty confident I've fixed most of the bugs and inconsistencies by now so I'm no longer considering this BETA.  That doesn't really change anything though.  If you find any bugs or inconsistencies please report via the bug tracking tab.  I only offer support for the latest version of VAFS and Horizon.  If you're using an older version of VAFS or Horizon I can offer no solutions to your bugs.

Update - 1/22/2019: Updated for Horizon 1.7.  Buffed legendary AP cost reducing armor/weapon perks from 1.7. Included a new beta esp that nerfs concentrated fire.

Update - 11/11/2018: Updated for Horizon 1.6.  Nerfs to Marksman 4 and MacCready perk, updated experimentation lab icons, fixed a bug or two.

Update - 5/11/2018: Horizon 1.5 changed quite a few perks and I also patched a few inconsistencies I hadn't noticed before.  Horizon's desolation mode touches jet chems to make them more addicting so that's all that's in the desolation patch.  I also added an optional file to re-enable random crits if you get the critical banker or better critical perks.

Update - 12/11/2017: Just like last time Horizon 1.4.1 didn't actually change anything but I finally got around to looking at the experimentation lab.  All mods effecting crit chance and vats accuracy should now have appropriate VAFS effects as well.

For the curious and observant, you may notice a new BA2 archive with this release.  I had to make a script in order to get the melee crit charge effect to work which is all that's in the BA2.

Update - 10/12/2017: Horizon 1.3.1 didn't actually change anything but I noticed some inconsistencies I went ahead and fixed anyways.  Mostly just forwarding Horizon's changes to the three legendary mods VAFS touches.

Update - 9/24/2017: Updated for Horizon 1.2.1.  There were a few perk changes, penetrator -> deadeye, sniper 3 changed slightly, and better criticals level requirements increased.

Update - 6/21/2017: I made my first pass at updating for Horizon 1.1.1 and it didn't look like there were any changes necessary.  I did find a few typos and I also added the DEF_UI perk tags but no other changes were made.  I haven't played with 1.1.1 yet though so there may be some balancing changes necessary to account for the new weapon system.

DLC Compatibility:
Horizon actually explicitly disables the new perks from Far Harbor and Nuka World so there's very little to patch.  If you have Nuka World installed also download and use the optional Nuka World patch.  You don't need the Nuka World patch at all as long as you follow the load order below.  Since Horizon excludes the new perks from Far Harbor anyways no additional patch is needed for that DLC.

Installation:
Use NMM or Mod Organizer.  It makes life so much easier.

Load Order:
...(other mods)...
VaultTecAcceleratedFocusSystem.esp
VaultTecAcceleratedFocusSystem - FarHarbor.esp (optional)
VaultTecAcceleratedFocusSystem - NukaWorld.esp (optional)
...(other mods)...
Z_Horizon.esp
Z_Horizon_DLC_ALL.esp (optional) - or -
Z_Horizon_DLC_Nuka.esp (optional) - or -
Z_Horizon_DLC_FarHarbor.esp (optional) - or -
VAFS-Horizon-Patch.esp
VAFS-Horizon_Desolation-Patch.esp (optional) - or -
VAFS_EnableRandomCrits-Horizon-Patch.esp (optional)
VAFS-NWDLC-Horizon-Patch.esp <- Not needed provided you follow this load order.

Automatic Weapon AP Cost in VAFS (New with version 1.1):
Since Horizon buffs automatic weapons so they deal more damage and VAFS AP cost was balanced around vanilla damage I increased the action point cost for firing an automatic weapon.  Instead of reducing the action point cost of automatic weapons by 60%, it now only reduces by 25%, but you deal more damage per bullet thanks to Horizon's buff.

Jet:
All jet chems have had the removal of dehydration forwarded from Horizon.
All jet chems kept the DEF_UI tag from horizon so they will display with icons if you're using Horizon's DEF_UI options.
Jet chem Durations have been adjusted somewhere between VAFS/Vanilla and Horizon where conflicts occurred.

New with version 1.6: If you use the optional desolation patch jet items are more addicting and have a chance to cause diseases.

Jet
  • Move/reload 40% faster for 15 seconds (unchanged from VAFS)

Buffjet
  • Move/reload 40% faster, +3 Strength, and +35 max AP for 15 seconds

Psycho Jet
  • Move/reload 40% faster, + 35 +25% Damage (nerfed in version 1.4.1), +35 Damage Resist and +35 Max AP for 15 seconds (updated in version 1.1 for consistency)

Ultra Jet
  • Move/reload 40% faster and +100 max AP for 25 seconds (unchanged from VAFS)

Perks:
Most perks did not directly conflict and I just combined the perk descriptions so they made sense for both Horizon and VAFS changes.  DLC perks were removed to match Horizon's behavior.  Those that did conflict are covered below.

Marksman (Riflemen in vanilla) (NEW in version 1.3):
  • Rank 1 - No change from Horizon.
  • Rank 2 - Same as Horizon, but also increases VAFS slow factor by 10%. (removed in version 1.6)
  • Rank 3 - No change from Horizon.
  • Rank 4 - Same as Horizon, but also increases VAFS slow factor by 10% 20%. (reduced in version 1.6) (actually reduced in version 1.7)

  • Rank 1 - Forwards level requirement from Horizon (4). Removed Horizon's critical hit chance outside VATS
  • Rank 2 - Forwards level requirement from Horizon (12). Removed Horizon's critical hit chance outside VATS. (This is still technically true, but there is now an option to re-enable random crits on install of the patch)

  • Rank 2 - No conflict, unchanged from Horizon.
  • Rank 3 - Merges VAFS and Horizon's changes. Ranged weapons (Ballistic or Energy) now gain +75% Sneak Attack Damage. Non-automatic scoped rifles gain +20% accuracy to head shots in V.A.T.S. V.A.F.S. is 20% slower while aiming with a scoped weapon.  Level requirement set to 24.

Gun Fu
  • Rank 1 - Forwards Horizon's nerf to bonus damage to 10%. (Corrected with version 1.1)
  • Rank 2 - Forwards Horizon's nerf to bonus damage to 20% and level requirement (15). (Corrected with version 1.2)
