Knocked out essential npc's take longer to recover. More combat realism without important characters dying off.

Do you get annoyed with immersion-breaking happenings like when companions, settlers, or other npc's get mowed down with 5000 bullets 12 grenades and a mini nuke, sit for a few seconds, then get up at full strength and fight again like nothing ever happened? Then this should help.
I altered a single game setting in fo4edit to extend the time it takes for knocked out essentials to get back up. Vanilla default is 20. Choose from three options:
slow recovery - 40
essential KO - 120 (what I use)
stay down - 999
Option 1 is basically "easy", if you think they should heal slower but not too long, so they can still fight again after a bit. Option 2 is recommended. They stay down long, but in case of unforeseen circumstances or a crazy battle they can still "regain consciousness" after a while. Option 3 they stay down for even the longest fights unless you inject stimpacks in them. This is probably the most realistic.
Any of these settings may make the game slightly more challenging in big fights since you cant count on immortal npcs to save you so easily. Essentials still auto recover once the combat scenario is over.
Highly recommend Better Settlers by Thom293 for more npc realism/immersion.
