I always thought the Bear trap added in Far Harbor was far too weak to be viable, not only is it too heavy to justify carrying a bunch of, but the limb damage is also way too low for it to have any advantage over regular mines. With this mod the Bear Traps have a 100% chance to cripple one of the target's legs, and if they step on multiple traps, they be immobilized on the ground.
So, if you're in a pinch and there's a Yao Guay or Assaultron sprinting at you, the bear traps will take out their legs without blowing you up in the process.
