Overview

This mod changes the appearance of the Perk Book and Pip-Boy/Girl animations in Fallout 4.
1) Reduces the clutter of the original book,
2) Blackens the animations to inject some oldschool vibes into the game
3) Removes the animation, fixes the animations

I really love the old UI of Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics, all of these three games have close to equal UI. It is simple and super immersive in relation to all the items and objects they have put into the game. Therefore i was asking myself, why did BGS use so many baby boy objects to clutter the game with an intensive unimmersive feeling? This mod is another step furhter away from this.

- Fallout 2 traits,
- Fallout Tactics traits

In the game files of Fallout 4, this can be found:
...\Textures\Props\ClipboardWithSPECIAL_d.DDS

Installation

This mod can be in-/unstalled anytime.

The plugin is ESL-flagged, don't countagainst normal ESP/ESM limit. The plugin is a dummy file (empty) to allow to make it appear in your load order and force the BA2 to load.

I contains an optional file which removes the sound when played hovering over the boys. Due to the animations removed i recommend to install it aswell. Also flagged ESL.

Compatibility

The mod overrides
... \Textures\Interface\PerkGrid\PerkGrid_Bottom_d.DDS
... \Textures\Interface\PerkGrid\PerkGrid_Top_d.DDS

any other mod doing this is obviously incompatible.

Technical Issues

If all animation would have been edited, i would not be possible to compile, due to the size of the images and the SWF file. Therefore i decided to remove the animation, frames which complete to the older games of Fallout very well btw.

Developer Notes

To remove the animation the pushbyte 1 is now followed by 0 instead of the last frame before end of sequence this will keep the blanked pipboy and the static pipboy without a flicker issue.

Example:
WAS = addFrameScript(0,this.frame1,24,this.frame25)  ;
 IS = addFrameScript(1,this.frame1,2,this.frame25)   ;
      internal function frame25() : *                ; must point to pushbyte 2 to force the animation to fix in frame 2
