- Have you ever noticed that pretty much all of the blood in Fallout 4 is fresh? Even when it's been there for over two hundred years? It's bugged me for a while, and I just recently decided to fix it...
...only to realize Bethesda had textures for dried blood packed in with the game and simply didn't bother to use them. So I used the textures for them.
FEATURES
- Implements dried equivalents to most blood decals in the game.
- Replaces over seven hundred blood decals with their dried equivalents, where it would make more sense for that blood to be dry.
- Fixes the placement for many of the replaced decals.
- Flagged as a light master (esl-flagged esm) for minimal impact on load order.
FAQ
- How do I start using this mod?
- Just install it! No configuration or special steps necessary.
- A few reasons. First, I adjusted the specular maps to make the dried blood less reflective. Second, I adjusted the opacity for several of the decals and created some new ones, such as the dried handprint. Third, it means that it won't conflict with existing blood replacers - their blood remains in place for fresh pools and spatter, while this replaces blood that should be dry.
- Not in the classic sense. I didn't replace the blood textures, and a lot of the blood in the game will still be just as fresh as Bethesda can offer. But this mod replaces decals in places like the screenshots provided, where the blood really should not be fresh. In some places you'll find a mix of both, such as some super mutant locations. In others, the blood will be almost entirely fresh.
- Two reasons. First, I want this to lose conflicts with other mods in order to prevent it from messing up another author's decorating. Second, it makes it easier for anyone to use it as a master file for their own patches.
- I have no plans to patch anyone's mods to use this, but anyone who wants to is welcome to do so.
