Glowing Sea Colonization - 7 New Settlements: 2025 Update
A continuation and enhancement of the original "Glowing Sea Colonization - 7 New Settlements" mod by TaxiVader, now with additional fixes, improvements, and PRP compatibility. Original mod can be found here.

This new version is fully compatible with the original and is safe to upgrade from on your current playthroughs. Please report any bugs or compatibility issues in the bug tracker and I will look into getting them resolved and added to the patch.

Welcome to the harsh, irradiated expanse of the Glowing Sea—an unforgiving wasteland of ruins, radiation, and danger. But now, the Glowing Sea is ready to be transformed into a network of thriving settlements. Equip your Hazmat suit, gather your resources, and lead the charge to establish civilization in the Commonwealth’s most desolate frontier.

This mod introduces seven fully functional settlements located throughout the Glowing Sea. Each settlement comes equipped with everything you need to build, defend, and expand, including:

  • Massive build areas and height limits for creative settlement designs.
  • Full integration with the map system, supply lines, recruitment beacons, and more.
  • 100% compatibility with Sim Settlements 2 and hundreds of other mods.
  • Dynamic settlement attacks, Minutemen quest integration, and map data updates.

Settlements are in the following places:

1. Edge of the Glowing Sea. Includes some of the 2-storey overpass.
2. Relay Tower ODB-521
3. Forgotten Church
4. Decayed Reactor Site
5. Capsized Factory
6. Skylanes Flight 1665 crash site
7. Federal Supply Cache 84NE


Current Changes Included with Patch:
  • Restored all renamed vanilla cell records. Should help compatibility with mods that rely on these game areas.
  • Added attack markers to all settlements so they will now be picked from minutemen quests and during settlement attacks.
Federal Supply Cache 84NE:
  • The two protectrons in the location are now fully controllable settlers! 
  • The turrets and spotlights are reprogrammed so they are controllable by the player and each provide 5 defence to the settlement.
  • Added an interior fuse box so the bunker has some power at the start.
  • The HVAC system can be turned back on which makes the bunker less radioactive, providing a safe(ish) haven in the middle of the glowing sea.
Capsized Factory:
  • Added two protectrons to the factory which are now fully controllable settlers. Perfect for doing the harsh supply line across the glowing sea.
  • The HVAC system can be reactivated which scrubs most of the radiation out of the the factory, providing a safe(ish) haven in the middle of the glowing sea.
  • Added a factory control terminal which can be used to control the new turrets, protectron settlers and radiation scrubbing.
  • Added 3 turrets to the factory which can be used to help clear the ghoul infestation. Each provide 5 defence to the settlement.
  • The two generators provide 100 power to the settlement.
Notice
I will continue working on this patch and making more objects scrapable, however this involves regenerating the PreVis data for the locations which I did not want to do on this initial release. Place Anywhere Mod with [Extra Objects Enabled (INSERT KEY)] makes even more objects movable/scrappable and is recommended.
