Congratulations! You've made it into the second most secretive faction in The Commonwealth! As a Railroad agent, you can further their cause of freeing and protecting synths while foiling The Institute's dastardly schemes! But what's this? Tinker Tom has a quest for you? He wants you to go to the exact same places you went last time, just in a different order? Not on my watch!

FEATURES

  • Adds 42 new possible targets for the Weathervane radiant quest.
  • As a side effect of adding more possible targets, it is much more difficult to trigger the bug where you cannot be given all ten requests.
  • Flagged as a light plugin (esl-flagged esp) for minimal impact on load order.

FAQ

How do I start using this mod?

Just install it! No configuration or special steps necessary.

    What's this about a bug?

Weathervanes is a series of the same radiant quest, where you get sent to different locations. However, if you've cleared more than one of those locations in advance, it can prevent you from being given all ten requests and as a result prevent you from "finishing" the quest and getting a reward from Tinker Tom.

Does this change how many requests you'll get?

No, I deliberately left that alone. All I did was add more options for where Tinker Tom can try to send you.

Why do all of the weathervanes get set up on the exact same plank and cinderblock combination?

Because that's the set of objects Bethesda designed for the quest. It's possible to change them out and/or add more decorations, but I chose not to do that because it's good from a user experience perspective to have a consistent target object. If you prefer more realism with varied objects, you're welcome to make a patch to change things.

    Why even bother with this?

I've done this quest chain so many times that I felt like a bit of variety would be nice. Now I have that.
