I've had Nick Valentine Romance for years now, how does this mod fare running alongside it? Is this an either/or kind of situation or is there hope for integration, perhaps??
Just a headsup: Doesnt work with oldgen unless you use a tool to downgrade the archive version.
That aside, nice quest mod, I really like how the story Nick tells us some day ties into this one. Love the dialogue options and VA quality. Well done and thanks for the mod :)
That also works, seems to just enable support for the new archives in older games.

I need the quest ID from the Feral doctor quest!I can't find it out and the quest log is stuck. Please help
Edit: I found out
Edit 2: I have many Bugs with this mod.Quest Obectives can't finished etc.For example at the end of the quest of be my valentine I Go to the dectectei Valentine in diamond city and nothing happens.I could remove the quest log via console but Elli is complete silent. She don't Talk anymore.I play with the pre ng Version of Fallout and have also tested the Version patcher but it didn't help.Bad
Very excited to see this, I just found out it exists! Watched the preview and while the sound-alikes aren't perfect, they're very close and I'm excited to hear all the dialogue!
Would some Silver Shroud integration perhaps be possible in a future update? Would love some interaction between my favorite companion and my favorite side-questline!
This is due to a missing dash in one of the filenames; "BeMineValentine Textures.BA2" should be "BeMineValentine - Textures.BA2" If you fix it up manually then this should resolve the issue, but it needs to be fixed in the main download.
Aha, sounds like I left a paper trail when I was figuring out how the companion romance system works. We didn't change Piper, but she was our case study for figuring out how to add a romance option to Nick. It shouldn't cause any problems, but let us know if it does. We're taking a look now either way. Thanks for calling that out!
Btw, you guys missed a golden oportunity to go full-pun and call this "Romancing The Drone", but you could always add it as a subtitle...
Anyway, I hope you don't mind my revisiting 2gtandknives' query regards needing some pre-explanation of the story & outcomes. Guess some folks "need" to know a lot before doing something, but it now seems a tad too revealing to me. Suggest shortening a bit to this:
Spoiler:
Show
Introduction: Step into a post-nuclear film-noir style quest, completion of which unlocks dialogue options for romance with Nick Valentine - but you can instead remain close friends if you prefer. The story is lore-friendly, building on Valentine's history with Diamond city, and runs about 25 minutes. All dialogue is original and includes sound-alike voice actors.
To start the quest: Complete the Long Time Coming quest, achieve maximum affinity with Nick Valentine, and take him as your companion to a Commonwealth location outside of any city. Beyond the Quest: Depending on how you wrap up the quest, you may spot a few new faces around Diamond City. We also added two legendary weapons you may get hold of (a submachine gun and a bat) which are not overkill but much in-line with boosts seen in other FO4 legendary items.
Feedback: If you encounter any bugs, let us know, and we'll fix them for you ASAP.
Acknowledgements: A huge thank you to our voice actors:
Amelia Armstrong as Ellie Perkins
Alexander Barnier as Warren Lonegan
Andrew Ginther as Big Pete
Grant Ginther as Barry
Elizabeth Heikkila as Player (Female)
Rod Heikkila as Nick Valentine and Player (Male)
Hadi Kiani as Maurice
Jax McTaggart as Jay
Matthew Rafferty as Rick Riley
Dylan Van Goch as Hardy
Along with the video that should be plenty. Either way, many thanks to you folks for sharing a much needed mod. More please!
I agree not too much should be given away. But for me, at minimum, I need to know a) is it ESL, b) does it add to the immersion or fun c) does the installation itself lock me into something my character will not want to do /be (uh... looking at thuggyverse and most of the content of Nuka-World)
Aye, thuggyverse is an acquired taste (imho, a bit too juvenile, lore-trashing, at times ridiculously enemy spawning), but some love it. And I too dislike most of Nuka World DLC (but love Far Harbour). What appeals to me upon seeing this mod is that Valentine is one of the best characters, criminally underused (if you pardon the pun) and ready-made for added questing (eg, more detective cases, etc).
Whether a mod adds immersion or fun is of course subjective, but like you I had to know if romance was optional because I'd love to do a bit more story stuff with Nick - but not in a romantic/physical way. As for an ESL I'd doubt a quest mod like this could be.
Revised the description! Striking the right balance with information can be tricky, so we truly appreciate your help. I see your point about the quest being the main focus over the romance too. We're looking into ESL today—fingers crossed.
Sadly, ESL isn't going to work for our mod, but your comments have given us more ideas about how we can make filling an ESP slot well worthwhile. Here's looking to future versions!
You ever hear of JaySerpa on the Skyrim mod scene? He made a bunch of ESL flagged quest mods that just expand the story and give more choices for interaction with vanilla characters. If you can get this mod ESL flagged, I think this may be a staple in every mod load order. I say ESL is important because your description says 25 minutes of content, so the calculation comes into play about whether that is worth taking up a slot. For me, I prioritize anything having to do with companions and NPC story-lines; that's what makes Bethesda games different from others.

Its pretty easy to use, you select the archives and the tool will change the version number and things will work perfectly fine (In my testing)
