Description

All vendors, caravan merchants, and settlement shops now have a reasonable caps for buying goods. Works with and without DLCs. ESP flagged ESL.

I sincerely loathe going to 10 different merchants because Bethesda thought 50-300 caps per merchant was a good idea, when one piece of Legendary gear or upgraded weapons easily cost upwards of 500 caps. This is a tiny fraction of what earlier games had. Now you can expect merchants to have a 500-3000 caps.

Similar mods exist, but this one has better compatibility, as no merchant chests were directly edited. I only touched the merchant caps level lists.

P.S. Thank you for 5k total downloads across all platforms! :D

Compatibility

So what you need to know is that I made this mod because the existing mods doing the same thing kept fucking with inventory level lists and merchant chests. I found it annoying. So I made one that just touches the LLs that control vendor caps. Anyway I'll try to embolden the important key points.

I used the minimal amount of edits: the "LL_CaravanUpgradeX," "LL_CapsVendor_X," and "LL_CapsWorkshopVendorX" leveled lists (very aptly named lol). These LLs specifically control all merchants' bottle caps, and from what I have tested covers nearly every merchant in the game, with exceptions for ones designed to be poor (i.e. Takahashi in DC).

Mods adding items into LLs likely wouldn't touch the same LLs as my mod, so it should work with any mod that don't serve the same purpose

Support is built in for DLCs, as those vendors use the vanilla LLs for their caps, however DLCs aren't required. (Thanks Bethesda!)

This mod won't increase caps generated by settlement shops, if you're wondering. (But I do recommend More Income From Settlement Vendors.)

Mod-added vendors will work assuming they reference the vanilla vendor lists for their caps. They should, in my opinion, but not every modder is gonna want to do things the same way. If you find a mod added vendor needs a patch, leave a comment with the mod's link and I'll get around to it when I can.

Install & Uninstall

Works best on a new game. Merchant inventories/caps take a long time to reset, so existing saves won't work with this immediately.

Install through your mod manager, or drop into the data folder. Load the plugin towards the bottom of your load order, specifically under any LL mods.

Uninstall by deleting the mod from your mod manager, or deleting the plugin from the data folder.
