About this mod

This adds a player owned dirty bed or sleep roll to major settlements, while increasing the cost of rented rooms and bought homes.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Donations
You shouldn't have to pay money to save. Which in survival you effectively have to do in any settlement that doesn't have a free bed.

Also, it always bothered me how cheap rooms were. A cup of noodles costs 60 someone caps and a room costs 10? Why is anyone sleeping on the ground when you can buy a room for 10 caps? Renting a room costs 100 caps now.

Now you might be thinking why would anyone spend 100 caps a night on a room when they can buy Homebase for a measly 2000 caps? Bought homes now cost 10,000 caps.

I made one bed player owned in each of the affected locations.

Affected Locations

Diamond City
It is the dirty bed in the furthest left part of where the public beds are placed.

Goodneighbor

it is the bedroll immediately to the left of the Hotel Rexford.

Bunker Hill

It is the bedroll under the stairs to the right of the entrance where you can immediately see the statue.

Far Harbor

I placed a new bedroll near the Power Armor workbench. Far Harbor is the only settlement where I felt the need to place a new bedroll, this might limit compatibility with other mods that place objects there. In Far Harbor, all he beds were owned by a specific NPC rather than an NPC group, so I couldn't change ownership without denying an NPC somewhere to sleep, which I didn't want to do.

NOTES
For whatever reason when I changed the value for how much a room should cost it didn't updated the dialogue prompt. It would still say "Rent Room (10 caps)" even though that prompt is supposed to get that numerical value from the global price of renting a room, and even as it wouldn't let me rent the room without 100 caps. For this reason I had to manually change each dialogue prompt to "Rent Rooms (100 caps)." Without even bothering to see if buying Homebase had the same problem I just assumed it did and also manually changed that dialogue prompt.

I didn't actually re-edit any audio files. I would like to, but can't honestly promise I'll even do it. That said, if you notice any dialogue that specifically references rooms costing 10 caps let me know. Feel free to report it as a bug. I'm not sure such dialogue even exists and I'm also not super confident I'd ever get around to fixing it, but I would still like to know.

COMPATIBILITY

I lay no claim that this is particularly compatible with other mods that have rented rooms. Depends on how they setup their room rental system.

Also, as you might have guessed this requires Far Harbor. Before anyone asks me to make a version that doesn't require Far Harbor, I just have to ask why you're bothering modding the game when you don't even have the full game. The DLC came out like 8 years ago, get with the times. And by "the times" I mean 8 years ago. Get with 8 years ago. Get fired from your job and fall into a depressive spiral following an unwanted election result. I mean, that's what I was doing 8 years ago. Can't speak for anyone else.

Anyways, hope you enjoy. Please endorse it if you do.
