War of the Commonwealth makes synths non hostile to the player. The only workaround i was able to figure out was making the institute faction hostile against the player, so the synths r hostile again. Before u gonna enter the institute to meet father u have to change the institute back to neutral. this can be done by following console commands:
I made 2 batch files for the lazy ppl and the ones who forget easily just like me. To install just download, extract and drag them manually into ur Fallout 4 main directory folder (NOT the Data folder!)
To use the batch files ingame u just need to type in the console:
to make the institute hostile: bat ihostile to make it back neutral: bat ineutral
I know its not the best and most comfortable workaround but the least i was able to figure out.
