For the March 2024 Sim Settlements 2 Plot-a-palooza event, I present:
The Watching Tower
Built out of terminals and robot parts, it uses it's electronic eyes to keep vigil over any undesirables approaching your settlement.
A human operator is still required to evaluate the information gathered. A variety of monitors are provided for this purpose.
As the tower upgrades, more monitoring equipment is added, as well as additional means of displaying the gathered information. The workload to evaluate this information has been deemed to be still within the capabilities of one single operator.
This is a 1x1 Martial Watchtower. It requires one single setter at all levels, and provides the defense value sharing like all watchtower plots.
