The issue with Institute Accelerator Cannon from Institute Technology Overhaul mod is that the weapon uses vanilla Missile Launcher animations, which has an issue when used on automatic weapons. This issue make NPCs, even companions incapable to use it properly because the animation set doesn't support automatic firing mode.
This mod fix the problem by making a different take about the weapon, that is by making it works like Tesla Cannon from Fallout: New Vegas, and renaming it to "Institute Tesla Cannon".
