About this mod

Disarming a mine now requires you to have a Defusing Kit. ESL mod.

ALTERNATE MINE DEFUSING
Based on a request by KamSolastor on my other mod HMD - Hardcore Mine Defusing

What this mod does

To put it simply, this mod makes it so you cannot simply pick hostile mines anymore. The player is now required to have a Defusing Kit in their inventory. Defusing Kits can be found on dead enemies or bought at vendors. Each kit can be used up to three times and is rendered useless after the third time.
When you activate a mine, if you have a defusing kit, the character will successfully disarm it and consume a kit - and comment on it. If you do not have any kit, the player will comment on it and a notification will appear.

What this mod requires

This mod requires Garden of Eden Papyrus Script Extender and its requirements. It is used simply to detect new mine types added by other mods.

Performances and Compatibility

This mod uses a Perk Entry Point to catch whenever the player will activate a mine.
Defusing Kit are injected by a script that runs only once right after you use the mod for the first time.
No vanilla forms have been edited and no scripts are running constantly. There is only one script to inject the necessary stuff, and one to manage the new defusing mechanic, which runs only when you activate a script, making this mod 98.9% safe.
Also this mod is an ESL, meaning it won't count towards the "normal" mod limit.

(Un)Installing

Use your favourite mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex to install or uninstall this mod.

Addendum

I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I enjoyed creating it. I have been modding Bethesda games for more than 15 years now (since Fallout 3 released in 2008) and I hope I'll get to make more mods in the future. I'd love to make mods for Starfield and future Bethesda games if I have the funds to buy a new PC (GTX 750 Ti for the win, yay).

Thank you for using it and thank you for being a part of this wonderful community!
