During the mid to late 90's and early 00's I was quite the fan of leather jackets and I still have all of them stored away in my cupboard. I also love leather interior's in cars, so I have quite a bit of "leather jacket" experience - just not on the same level as Fonzie.

In the vanilla pic, the leather has sort of lost it's shine through aging (can be buffed back to shine in real life) - which is actually quite realistic, even though the texture itself is rather bland and not detailed. Your texture is obviously an improvement to say the least, however the only thing I am not 100% sold on is the grainy or noise amount on the leather surface. Sure it looks cool and detailed in the game, but leather doesn't normally look like that. Well at least not those on leather jackets in that example.
I am guessing that roughly made leather gear will probably look like that - with the "created at home" look so to speak, but pre-war stuff would look a lot more closer to vanilla. (style, feel and look wise) with whatever wear it would have had depending on how it was stored. I am guessing it would be smooth as in the vanilla pic, with a dull surface that has lost a lot of its shine.
I hope I have not offended with my feedback - I just felt that black leather jacket tops don't look quite right, especially compared to the very similar stuff I still have in my cupboard (and they have been there nearly 20 years.) I also have a leather wallet which is nearly 30 years old, and it too has lost it's shine and has a lot of surface abrasions - but still is not grainy looking so to speak.
I could send you a photo of my 30 year old wallet as an example if you wish.
Thirding this opinion. The road, greaser, and Atomic Cat gear look too rough; any accident serious enough to cause that degree of road rash to those leathers is probably not an accident its wearer is walking away from.
EDIT: That being said, the quality is high across the board, and the armor sets that aren't supposed to look like pre-war motorcycle gear look absolutely great.
Oh boy, the absolute state of Nexus.... Its worse than North Korea, you have to tread so lightly as to not offend anyone in the slightest by your valid opinions and unbiased constructive criticism... How many times have i seen mod author ban users/blocked comments completely because they were so full of themselves. Not saying that this author is an easily offended special snowflake, but the way you wrote this comment really reminded me why i feel uncomfortable here. People are just acting along, being all positive but say a wrong word and you get banned.
Anyway, thanks for this mod, i cant stand Bethesdas incompetence/laziness on this matter...they could at least make it so that while youre under cover, you wont get this effect at all.
I know what you mean. I have had one modder get mad at me once cos I made a VERY polite and constructive critism of a mod and he took down the mod! I got blamed by everyone, but I wasn`t rude at all. I know modders are like artists and get very emotional about criticism , I know i`m an artist, but I never take down anything I do because of criticism even if impolite, i`ll just ignore or maybe bann an impolite criticism (anything like "you suck!").
He put the mod back up later when he got over his emotional fit. Could`ve been a her come to think of it.
I`m also a modder, but not of this game and I`ve had my fair share of abusive commentators with nothing positive to add. Never took down my mod.
p.s. That said, sometimes I`ve had Moderaters have to close the comments section, because some spiteful people actively try to bulldoze my comments sections with constant whines, so no one else can make positive comments. And this is why I think I have to moderate the chat, before a Moderator closes it.
I got blocked by christopher4684 for reasons I'm still not entirely sure of. He and I had a debate of sorts with one of his mods, but ended it amicably. Still wound up blocked though. I talked to other people about it, they also said he was rude. Eh, whatever. Hardly the first rude person I've dealt with. Definitely won't be the last.
This is only constructive criticism, please don`t be offended. It is only to help you improve.
Worn leather becomes dull and slighter lighter in colour over time. I know, I have a couple of leather jackets. This may look `worse` than shiny when new, but actually means they wear better on the body and is more comfortable. Best clothing purchases I ever made, but only after a year or two!
Worn leather over decades, will not look shiny, unless stuck in a safe from brand new.
One part that's bugging me is how the rivets on the innermost parts of the upper arm pads no longer have a hole which doesn't match vanilla nor the outer pads and I was hoping you might fix this.

I'd prefer the vanilla textures.
