So i made 5 new mods for the Gauss rifle (including my glow sight mod) then i gave them some new textures... then i wanted power armor that matched... and then i wanted even better electrical gauss rifle projectiles... and now this mod has come into being. So this has been on the workbench since i first charged a 2mm EC in the commonwealth... and got dissapointed visually...

My other Mod; Electrical Projectiles, is included as standard in this mod, as i wouldnt be using the Gauss Rifle without it. So if you are using this mod there is no need to keep Electrical Projectiles.

It replaces the Gauss Rifle explosion and muzzle flash effects with a smaller version of the EMP grenade, it looks awesome in my humble opinion :)

I was playing around with the force of the projectile and explosion earliar today and will upload some different force level versions of the .esp at some point (what goes up must come down right?... but im still waiting for a molerat... dont think im going to be able to loot him any time soon)

Other than that this should be compatible with most things, other textures could overwrite mine but only the shroud dds and gaussrifle_s.dds have original names.

Should be more Gauss Rifles out in the commonwealth and way more 2mm EC ammunitions out there as well. Can be found at much lower levels as well (makes raiders a little more interesting) but any chance of npc's getting the gun seems pretty low still

Added a Semi-Lore friendly addon! its an attachment to the main reciever making the Gauss Rifle into the Gauss Laser Assisted Electrical Rifle! or G.L.A.E.R for short ;) (this is only a quick fix the meshes are still in early stages and i havnt made/changed any textures for them yet)

Aaand now it has a texture to go with the rest! After about an hour or so of playing ze game i had reposition and scale the G.L.A.E.R attachment in Nifskope to reduce the clipping a bit, i think it looks a whole lot better now for such a small change, so yeah Lore Friendly has been updated and there is a new textured option for it now too :)

I was so tempted to call it the L.A.G.E.R :p but i like this gun too much to make it a joke just yet. Uploaded a screenshot of it, its still a W.I.P (added textured screenshot)

Big update (still) incoming soon! Needs to rebuild it to be more craftable with less versions :/ ... Ive been busy battling with weapon mods try to get them into the game and haven't had much time to come back to this one, but I have some plans for it.

I'm going to separate the gauss rifle part of this mod into its own standalone weapon (with an updated mesh and some more mods) and then Thunderstruck can be the home of the PA paint and Weapon texture. (I have some textures for the L.A.E.P and K.A.T.A.N.A to match this that I will upload here soon)

And for the gauss rifle's standalone version, i really cant decide how to rename it, I quite like calling it the G.L.A.E.R but part of me thinks it should be rearranged to L.A.E.G.R as it makes more sense that way, What do peoples think?? drop a comment or message me.

And then there is compatibility stuff to figure out too.

So expect that update to happen within a couple of weeks, Ive got 2-3 other mods I need to update first.


5 new standalone mods for the Gauss Rifle:

 Shielded Dynamo Barrel
 Padded Shock Stock
 Glow Sight
 Tesla Breaker
 Capacitor Coil And Booster Pack

I have also increased its ammo capacity and changed the ugly blue shroud as well as editing the _s.dds so the rifle part of the weapon wasnt as shiny.


The Glow Sight only requires Science 1 and the standard mats (nuclear material and adhesive) the rest require more.

All but the glow sight has been tweaked to to be slightly better than the original gauss mods hence the higher requirements.

They have their own custom meshes and textures built by myself from nothing but original game files using Nifskope and Gimp 2.

The power armour is as all power armor mods should be, standalone. It has Explosive Shielding and costs nothing to make.
I have included 2 replacers of the Jetpack and Frame to go with the paintjob as Optional/Misc Files. I dont really like the plain one but it could be better than everyone having it for some people.

I made this for my own enjoyment and education... and it was fun and i learned plenty so i am pleased with it :)

I dont really want to have to list my load order but i am using plenty of mods in the video although the only most noticable ones are things like True Storms and sound effect replacers etc. If you see your mod in this or any video i make let me know and ofc ill give credits, or remove the video. When a load order has more than 100 mods i dont want to uninstall them all everytime i make a recording.

(i still suck at making videos though... at least i tried lol, it was meant to show good examples of Electrical Projectiles but im using this mod in it as well so i think its relevant, Im still waiting for another, hopefully better quality vid to upload to youtube)

*Edit2* Got the raider power armor paintjobs working standalone (with much help from Gawl40's mod there and his other shadowed PA armour one too) uploaded a screenshot. Will put the files up soon with a couple of other things im working on.
