A true classic from DOOMBASED. The FN FAL has been around for almost five years and being a DOOM mod its high quality, but I thought the textures could do with an update and expansion, plus a few tweaks could be made so it better fits the vanilla game.
So what's different?
To reflect the vast amount of conflicts the FAL has featured in, the amount of skins has been increased from 5 to 25 and they will all spawn on NPC's.
Textures have received a lot of tweaks, artifacting has been removed, new spec maps have been made to increase fine detail, receiver normal maps are improved, subtle wear and tear has been added to most skins, the default weapon skin was changed to worn all wooden furniture, olive and tan original skins were tweaked, low resolution lettering on a scope was removed, even the bullet in the chamber was edited to look better.
The Pasta FAL, generic placed FAL, and Cat Sights were all removed because I have no sense of humour. Worldspace and cell edits are a major cause of conflicts and crashes so I got rid. A Vegetato camo pattern was included to hopefully not piss off the country of Italy.
Many issues with stats and functionality of the weapon have been addressed. Automatic fire mode now decreases damage to match vanilla game behaviour, base damage was slightly reduced, different zoom levels were removed from templates to stop weapons spawning with 7.5x reflex sights, implementation of material swaps has been simplified, some descriptions were changed or corrected, component cost to make material swaps is reduced to 1 oil.
The mod comes with either 4k or 2k textures and includes the alternative sounds file, ESP flagged as ESL. If you are using the original mod its best to start a new game before switching to this.
Like DOOMBASED, I have open permissions on this mod as I just made it to thank DOOM. If anyone wants to take this mod in its entirety and add attachments or anything, go right ahead.
