You can make your own effects by screwing around with Stealth Boy item. Feel free to upload your own plugin. Just reference this mod for the extra files.
does the bullet time work with step dodge on firearms? please say yes
edit: it does not, you can use console to change to step dodge still , but doesnt seem to work, i would do that and use the backward one for variety/options during combat for extra function, but it actually turns my character totally invisible during the stealth boy buff duration lol
Hello, I press the bash button when holding a gun but no animation comes out, I think neither it happens with melee. Have I done something wrong/missing a step? I installed it via vortex which should work right? (meant to comment this in the simple dodges page my bad)
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but this mod seems not to be working for me as intended. When using melee there seems to be no slow down (I did "set dslow to 1"), and when with a gun the dodge puts me in real stealth (I turn invisible) for a long time, and it consumes the stealth-boy (in fact I simply use the stealth boy as an item when performing the dodge). I use these mods by you in this load order: SAR Stagger Perk - SPID SAR Stagger Perk - RobCo Patcher Simple Attack Reaction Speed - Balanced Simple Attack Reactions - ESL Simple Dodges - Loose Files Simple Dodges Addon - Slow Time Default
The dodge will automatically use the stealth boy, but it looks to me like another mod is overwriting the stealth boy item in your setup. Try lowering this addon in your load order. You’ll be able to tell when your stealth boy has 0 weight & value that this mod has priority regarding it.
Unfortunately that didn't help. I put the mod as low as I could, but the weight of the stealth boy is still =1. By the way I use "a StoryWealth collection" that has about 700 mods. https://next.nexusmods.com/fallout4/collections/5atq9t?tab=about . Apparently there's some mod conflict.
Not sure if you will see this, but I found a solution to one of your issues. The DSlow function was not working as intended for me as well. If anything in your load order is overriding the following _SlowTimeJet "Jet: Slow Time" [MGEF:00248900]_, it will conflict. In my case, it was Immersive Animation Framework. I fixed it by copying a the MGEF into the SimpleDodges.esp as a New Record, and then replaced the MGEF entry into Stealth Boy record that i3ncore modified.
As a quick pointer, you may want to modify the new Virtual Machine section of the new MGEF, since the vanilla scripts cause the player character to yell Jet-use phrases during dodging, and also affects the Image Space (blur, discoloration, etc.) while dodging.
Thanks for the answer! I'm glad I'm not alone and crazy:) Honestly, I'm not so versed in modding and programming as you are. Meddling with game files is too much for me. I've decided to live without this mod for now. I think your information will be more useful for the mod author though.
The dodge mechanic is from Simple Dodges, and the dodge command is tied to your weapon bash key. For this mod to work, load after Simple Dodges, and ensure you have a Stealth Boy in your inventory. For the slow time effect, you need to use the console to type set dslow to 1.
Hi thanks a bunch. I really like this, great addition. Two things I kinda wish could be fixed, like a 1 seconds delay between each dodge because right now it is possibly to dodge through dodges, and dodge faster than sprinting etc, and also that it will not shows "Dodge Boy Added" after every dodge. But great addition for sure!
iirc it is possible to hide the message that appears when an item is given to the player. If true, I'll update this (that's the reason this hasn't been ported to console yet).
I'm curious would there be a way to link this or the simple dodge itself to a perk, like moving target? like start getting the dodge boy when you take the first perk, then get the slow time affect when you take the next rank, and extend the bullet time affect on the next rank? I am gonna look into it, but admittedly I'm not a modder and very bad with this stuff so I thought I'd ask for advice
Yes, simple conditions can make that possible. Wouldn't even need to edit the perk itself, just add the conditions to the Stealth Boy item's effects and/or the animations in Simple Dodges (Idle Anims\Staggers).
