Plague Doctor Mask
This time I present you with a Plague Doctor Mask for all your Halloween Costume needs.
A plague doctor was a physician who treated victims of bubonic plague during epidemics mainly in the 16th and 17th centuries. These physicians were hired by cities to treat infected patients regardless of income, especially the poor that could not afford to pay.
Plague doctors had a mixed reputation, with some citizens seeing their presence as a warning to leave the area or that death was near. Some plague doctors were said to charge patients and their families additional fees for special treatments or false cures. In many cases these doctors were not experienced physicians or surgeons, instead being volunteers, second-rate doctors, or young doctors just starting a career. In one case, a plague doctor was a fruit salesman before his employment as a physician. Plague doctors rarely cured patients, instead serving to record death tolls and the number of infected people for demographic purposes.
In France and the Netherlands, plague doctors often lacked medical training and were referred to as "empirics". Plague doctors were known as municipal or "community plague doctors", whereas "general practitioners" were separate doctors and both might be in the same European city or town at the same time.
I found this mask on Sketchfab, and I thought it would make a great mod for people to enjoy for their Fallout 4 game, so I ported it.
The Plague Doctor Mask does not have any special animations or upgrades, and I will not be making any for it. It are just a basic no frills Item just the way I like it.
As stated above in red the mask cannot be improved or changed at the Armor Workbench, other than having a legendary effect added to it.
There is some clipping that will happen if you have a player character that has hair. I set it up so that people could use it and have it look like it was just put on. If you don't like the clipping, just adjust it in Outfit Studio so that you can have it to your liking in your game.
The mask can be made at the Chem Bench and has it's own listing, so it should be easy to find.
The mask gives some protection to poison and to rads.
The mod is flagged as an ESL, so it does not take up any mod slots.
The mod is what it is, and unless it is a game breaking issue, will not be revised.
No I will not port this to Skyrim, I am sure that there is already something like it out there somewhere.
If you are crashing at the Chem Bench when trying to make the weapons, go and download and enable the mod No More Legendary Screen, that mod will stop the crashing from happening. Make sure you get the correct copy of the mod for the version of the game you have.
