About this mod

This mod adds a shader effect to make dead actors easier to see at night or in clutter.

I See Dead People

Functionality has changed...There is only one item now "I see Dead People". Using this item will start a shader effect on dead actors that will last for one minute. Binding it to one of the native hotkeys is suggested if you have room.

What does it do?
This mod adds a shader effect to dead actors making them easier to find in the dark, or clutter.

How does it work?
Upon starting the mod an item "I See Dead People" will be added to the aid tab of the inventory.
Using this consumable item will start the shader effect.

What if I lose the item?
Each item can be crafted at the Chemistry work bench for one cap each. It can be found in the Utility
section.

What if I have a previous version installed?
Previous versions will need you to stop the shader effect using the I See Dead People (off) item. This will stop the script loop from running. Make a save with the effect toggled off. At this point it would be best to disable the mod and make a new save without the mod active.

I'm making these changes because my original approach using a script loop was messy. If the mod was removed while the effect was in "on" mode the script loop would still persist in save game files. Those records can be removed using Fallrim Tools

This new version, while less convenient, is better suited for the intended use of the mod. If you prefer the old version that's fine, I will leave it up for now. Just remember to always turn off the shader before removing the mod in the future.

I also went through the mod in FO4Edit and removed any unused forms created that aren't in use any more.

added a new shader for dead legendary actors. The new shader is red and has a slow pulsing animation.

Fixed the red legendary shader not working in the beta-11. (Assuming I included the correct scripts this time...)

Added new functionality, the shader will now play as long as the actors 3d remains loaded. To stop the shader you can loot the "!Shader Off!" item in their inventory.

If the actor is unloaded by, for example, fast traveling away, or moving multiple cells away the next time they are loaded all shaders should be stopped.

Reactivating the "I See Dead People" effect on these actors will result in only the actors who did not have the "Shader Off" item removed from their inventory playing the shader effect.

This will allow you to easily determine if you have looted a dead actor or not (as long as you take the "!Shader Off!" item from them. Don't worry about having these items collecting in your inventory. They will not be added it's only a token item.
