About this mod

Good kids help their parents! This mod allows you to assign child settlers to work just like any adult settler.

+++DESCRIPTION+++

When you visit the Nordhagen Beach, Warwick Homestead or Somerville Place settlements, you'll notice how the children help their parents with the farm work. Great, isn't it? This may change after they decide to join the Minutemen.

In my game these lazy brats decided more than once that standing around all day (being "unassigned") is a fun activity. I do not tolerate this lack of dedication, so this mod makes them assignable.

+++Features+++

  • makes child settlers assignable to work items (this includes Meg in Bunker Hill)
  • gives original inhabitants of settlements proper names for the whole family
  • adds the missing relation between father and daughter in Somerville Place
  • fixes the vanilla bug that June Warwick is not assignable

+++Installation+++

Just drop the esp in your Fallout 4 Data folder and activate.

+++Uninstallation+++

Deactivate the esp and remove it from your Fallout 4 Data folder.

+++Known Issues+++

If you started your game without the mod, you will not be able to assign the children. Why? Because the original values of their workshop variables are already stored in your savegame. Don't worry, this can be fixed easily with the following procedure:

  • Make sure that you're not in workshop mode.
  • Approach the child, open the game console and click on the child to select it. Make sure that the child is selected and not some "mist" or other transparent object.
  • Type "cf SetCommandable true"
  • Close the console and activate workshop mode. The "Command" button should now be available for the child.
