Faster melee attack animations meshes for 1st person

This is a set of melee attack animations that have been modified to be faster.

The animation meshes are loose files that will be loaded over the base-game archived animations if you have enabled loose files in your .ini. It is safe to add or remove these loose files - they don't actually overwrite anything.

This is only for 1st person animations.

This covers only 1st person melee and unarmed attacks: basic attacks, sprint attacks, and power attacks.

It does not touch actor values so it does not affect movement speed like changing animation speed does.

Melee attack speed is MUCH FASTER in 1st person. Particularly unarmed.


This is not balanced: it's just for fun, don't take it too seriously.

I uploaded this mod separately to my other mods because barely anybody likes power armor anymore.

But if you do like power armor,

I first tried changing attack speed on two-handed weapons to fix the bug in power armor so that 1st person two-handed melee attacks at the same speed as the 3rd person attack animations in power armor.

I made two power armor mods that affect melee speed and other stuff:

I made a small mod that is COMPATIBLE WITH EVERYTHING that just does fundamental mechanics fixes for power armor - melee attack speed normalising, recoil reduction on guns as per power armor's intended purpose, immersively implementing variable fast travel fusion core drain, and revamps explosive impact landing to be manual from any height using your own mines of different types as charges.


I made another bigger mod that is a broad mechanics overhaul mod that "makes power armor how it should have been", IT WILL HAVE A LOT OF CONFLICTS, it features immersive new costs and balance mechanics that most power armor enjoyers will hate. I challenge you to find another power armor mod that is as lore-friendly, or also lets you drink your own piss (canon). Among other things it lets you install a new mod on arms to increase melee attack speed even further.

You can work around melee attack speed being set and hardcoded by copying and editing the animation meshes like the ones here, adding the different meshes set in a new meshes folder, then make a plugin with an additive race subgraph with animations conditional to actor keywords, then use scripts to dynamically attach or remove actor keywords when conditions change, then use a script function to reload the equipped weapon's animations, and you can then vary attack speed on-the-go. That's what my power armor mods do.


The video shows a different mod with a modified power armor arm mod increasing melee attack speed - but it makes a good comparison for this mod too as the animation meshes used are also used here.
The sword swing speed in the modified power armor in the video is the same as this mod.
The supersledge swing speed in this mod is between the speed outside and inside the power armor shown in the video - it now matches medium speed in the base-game.
