Has anyone ever done a mod similar to this, but for companions? I always build a house for my character with a room for Cait (my usual companion) but the other settlers are always sleeping in her bed.
For you survival players out there, as I am one of you, I suggest downloading Survival Options. This will not only let you customize how hard you really want your game to be, but also changes the requirements for sleep in beds.
If anyone is interested - I've made a Settlement Menu Manager patch for this mod so that it has its own menu in the workshop. I've also made some XMLs for AAF and NAF so they will recognise the furniture from this mod.
I installed this mod, loved it, and thought it was working great, until I walked into Sanctuary one night and found Sturges snoring in my bed with his filthy boots still on and everything. Since then, he keeps wandering right into my bedroom like he owns the place and flopping into my bed while I'm standing right there about to use it.
It only started happening after the Molecular Relay quest, so I'm just headcanoning that since he showed me how to build the thing, he now thinks it entitles him to take over my house. I guess I'll move to Taffington.
If you are having this problem double check to make sure you have enough beds for all of your settlers. If you are running low on beds the game engine MIGHT override this mod. Personally I can only think of two reasons why the mod might just stop working: 1) Not enough beds 2) You are using a large settlement build and the game engine is struggling to keep up with everything and the mod just didn't fire properly.
Try this mod: Private Area Markers It will allow you to flag an area so that the settlers see it as private. As such, they will not try to use the items in that area such as chairs or other idle markers. Should work well with This is my bed.
