Why:
  • When the player levels up all loaded NPCs with the PCLevelMult flag will automatically be leveled up and their health will magically increase. This is how NPCs scale to infinity with the player.
  • The problem arises when you level up in combat with NPCs. You will see them heal a bit as a result of the extra health being added. Usually up to 5 health, which isn't much and by the time you encounter these NPCs in combat the 5 health is a pixel or two of their healthbar.
  • Now, if you use mods like SCOURGE you may have noticed that NPCs will gain stupidly high stats when you level up. For example SCOURGE will make DC guards have around 100 health. But if you happen to level up while they are loaded, their health will be recalculated by the game and the 100 hp will be reset to what they'd have in vanilla, which at player level 50 may end up being 1,720 health. It's stupid.
  • Now, it was fixable via manual edits, but I did not want to edit a few hundred NPCs due to the conflicts it'd create. So this plugin will remove the flag when the game is loaded and set the level of the NPC to either their CalcMinLevel or CalcMaxLevel - depending on what's chosen in the .ini.

Should you use this:
  • If you want to disable such scaling, or are using SCOURGE or similar mods, you should 100% download this plugin for a quick and easy solution to your problems.
