This mod worked fine for me when I was using Nexus Mod Manager but now that I am trying to install it with Mod Organizer 2 it is bringing up a box saying "No game data on top level" in red. If I click OK it brings up another message saying "This mod was probably NOT set up correctly, most likely it will NOT work. You should first correct the directory layout using the content-tree." When I click ignore it adds the mod to my left pane, but the text is gray and is accompanied by a red box with an "X" (no valid game data). I have tried NMM download (synced to MO2) and manual drag and drop (into MO2) but the result is the same. I will test it despite these potential problems and edit this post with my findings. I am pairing this mod with "Malevolent Ellen the Carthographer Overhaul" and I am posting this in case others experience the same issue using MO2. Thank you for sharing your mod with us cathymeow.
EDIT: figured out the problem with some googling. For anyone experiencing the same problem, simply find the folder with the esp during install and set it as the data directory via right-click. Sorry if this is simple for most people but at least now there is a solution on this page for anyone new to MO2 like myself.
How can this be tagged as not lore-friendly? For all we know, the institute could've made those eyes for their 3rd gen synths, or for synths in WIP mode from 3rd gen to 4th gen.
Yep. Works with the normal Mega Surgery process. I suggest avoiding slm whenever possible. The game normally loads a low-complexity scene for the remodeling, and you can pretty easily crash the game by doing showlooksmenu sculpts in the middle of a complex scene.
They do not appear to glow and I didn't see any glowmap textures. Though I am unsure if they are needed in Fallout 4 though I assume they are. Still pretty eyes.
i tried to add a glow map but it seems there is more to it than just making a glow file... no idea.. maybe someday in the future i will ad glow finally btu im so busy playing FO over and over again
Glowmaps work the same in FO4 as they do in Skyrim or FO3 Lisnpuppy, needs to be enabled in the .nif. But now there's the bgsm files as well but those make it even easier even if its an added step. The vanilla eyes do not have glow maps enabled so even if the texture is added the game will ignore it.
Ah well there you go then! I'll keep that in mind if I decide to make any eyes too. I like making eyes and downloading eyes. Thanks for clarifying for me.
It's easy to enable a glow map using the Material Editor, open the .bgsm with Material editor and put a check mark in the box next to Glow and add the glow map to the texture list. I have sent CathyMeow male and female eye models and a .bgsm with glow maps enabled the new models use so hopefully they work correct.
If you want them too Lisnpuppy ill give you the download in a PM.
This is the UltraViolet eyes with a glow map, not as good as CathyMeow will do I am sure.
By default, characters in FO4 get some lighting (see the weird 'cl' console command), and so even without a glow layer, anything applied to an NPC/player "glows" a bit. Just throwing that in there.
I'm not sure thats true. Whille it won't replace the other eyes i swear I've seen a gunner with standalone eyes. He turned to goo a second later so not 100% sure though.
@Exoclyps That is possible if the gunner didn't have the eye color set when the NPC was created and the game just picked a random eye color. Usually they will use the default color, hazel or blue in Skyrim I cant remember which though. If that was the case then it isn't the mod causing it.

My question is, by standalone does it mean ADDS these eyes, not replaces OR does it just not require anything else?
-Edit- Got my answer further down in posts. Awesome! Can't wait to see these if/when they glow!

So no, NPCs will not have these eyes by default.
