About this mod

A great configurationfile if you have OK fps but would like to get that extra push and still enjoy great graphics!

Permissions and credits
Heyas! I love Fallout 4 but at this state the game is far from optimized.  As im an experienced FPS player i really dont like playing with choppy framerate and stuttering. Made an earlier CFG with lots of visual tweaking etc but found these tweaks rather inefficient so i tried a new approach. This CFG barely touches visuals but optimizes the game with general tweaks. Ive put alot of hours into finding the right mix of tweaks for maximum performance/minimal visual impact and this is it.

With the config and process lasso combined i get INSANELY much better performance, from choppy 35-40 fps to quite stable and ALOT smoother 60-72FPS(as i run 72hz). (My rig is Fx6300 4.3ghz, 280x slight oc, 8gb ram).

CFG for max fps while maintaining image quality.
Might be mainly for AMD gfx users but might work for both AMD and NVIDIA.

Installation instructions
1. Backup your old inis in Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\
2. Extract these cfgs to Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\
3. open Fallout4prefs.ini and edit sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon R9 200 Series" to whats in your old ini file.
4. edit iSize H=1080 iSize W=1920 to perferred resolution.
5. Save and close. Now open Fallou4.ini and edit iNumHWThreads=6 to the number of threads your processor supports. (google processor name + threads)
6. Save and close. Now right click on each file and select Properties, turn files read only mode. Then start your game and enjoy the cfg!

****** HUGE IMPACT TWEAK FOR EVERYONE **** <- try this even if your not downloading my cfgs.

1. Download and install Process Lasso and start fallout 4.
https://bitsum.com/processlasso/
2. Alt tab and find Fallout 4 in process Lasso, then right click it and set the following:
Priority Class: Current > High
I/O Priority: Current > Normal
Memory Priority: Current > Normal
Application power profile: High Performance

You might to restart your PC after this is set.
This increased the games performance and smoothness alot. I use it with my latest cfg, 60+fps most times.

Optional:

If you try the config but feel like you want to change parts of it then just remove read only, start launcher and edit your settings then start game, alt tab and set both to read only again.

A NOTE FOR AMD USERS!!

I read that tesselation in fallout 4 taxes huge performance for amd cards, go to catalyst control center and add a
custom profile for Fallout 4 and override tesselation settings, set it
to something like 4-16.

2ND NOTE If your FPS is very STABLE then add this line into fallout4.ini under general

iFPSClamp=60
Replace 60 with whatever your FPS is capped at, will improve smootheness and decrease stutters, but it absolutely requires that your FPS is stable at target value.

Enjoy, and please post feedback about your results!
