About this mod
Adds a couple lore friendly shields to the world in order to spice up encounters and make them more interesting. They can block stuff. Simple as that, it really does just work.

Thanks for a top spot on hot mods this week!
Adds in 8 (currently) new shields to the game. Can be found in locations, vendors, and sported on different enemies. Each faction has their own shield variation with unique properties. You'll be blocking their stuff, and they'll do the same to you. It's no ordinary melee weapon.
Far from perfect but it's really fun to play around with!
Currently, shields can block:
- Bullets (If underneath their damage threshold)
- Lasers (Completely impervious)
- Melee Attacks (finnicky at the moment, see known issues tab)
I know lots of you will ask, but I can't make a gun + shield combo cause I didn't make the animations. If you find one, let me know so I can make it work with the framework.
Two shields can be crafted under the "Shields" category in the chem station.
Compatible with everything thanks to script injection (thanks DankRafft)
Shield Information
Basic info:
All shields have two attacks, a light and heavy bash.
Some shields have special modifiers when attacking, like bleed, etc.
All shields have a damage resistance threshold, which works as follows: If a shield has say, 20 damage resistance threshold, all weapons that take 20 damage or less will be fully absorbed. Otherwise, weapons that take 21 damage or more will take full damage, regardless if blocked or not. Weapons like lasers are fully reflected, but weapons that have modifiers like gamma guns will still apply rads.
To see shield info and DRT, you must equip the item
If you're having trouble dealing with shielded enemies, take a look at the these tips for a second.
Try these methods out:
Find windows in the enemy's offense (not reflective of actual gameplay)
Find a bigger gun with bigger calibers that will blow past the resistance threshold
Find, well, something that will blow you both to hell.

Since the mod uses a script framework, it will unfortunately never be available on Xbox. Gomen consolians!
The latest version of Shield Framework is a hard requirement

From there, install with a manager and follow the prompts on the FOMOD installer

Shield Tactics - Incredible new mod that lets you use companions as cover when they are shielding. Highly recommend this one!
Uneducated Shooter - Another amazing mod from jarari that allows you to peek corners (peeking + shields = not getting shot when being nosy)
Burst Impact Blast FX - Arguably the best modern particle mod and makes shield ricochets look even more badass
- Shields occasionally look a little goofy when their wielder is killed
- Shields won't appear to render right away in first person
- Framework modpage stated that they can block melee attacks, but this seems to only work on everyone besides the player (NPCs). Best bet is to git gud and block the old fashion way. Looks fancier too.
- Framework doesn't have PA animations
For future updates
-Add paint patterns to some shields See DeadlyStr1ke's addon in the installation details
- Super mutants get their own shield(s)
- More shield mods (no ideas for this at the moment)
