About this mod

Vzen's Vending Machines have been a staple in my load order forever and a day. I decided to implement some new features!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Vzen's Vending Machines are awesome, automated "Tier 3.5" vendors for the aspiring settlement builder who loves clunky Fallout aesthetic vending machines. I've been working on a vending machine mod of my own and, after noticing that Vzen left the permissions for uploading modifications open, I decided to apply some of what I'd been implementing and share it with other vending aficionados.

  • Added glow maps to the green text, giving the appearance of dim neon illumination at all times.
  • Fixed up the material files to make use of the spec maps that Vzen had created but seemingly never properly pathed, gives the machines a metallic, chipped paint look.
  • Added snap points near the base with a few extra inches of space, allowing you to make your own pop-up-Instamarts nice and tidy in just a few seconds. Just a heads up, while I spaced them to afford most of the objects to not clip if you go for the full decorated look, there is "if you really want to find it, you'll see it" levels of clipping with the lollipop and stimpak on the Food and Medicine machines respectively with other monitors, but it's only obvious from one angle. That said, the decorated Miscellaneous machine has to be on the furthest left of a snapped together setup as the basket of goodies will very obviously meld with the unit next to it if there's one on the right.

I might revisit this later to add some actual dayglow green light emission to the screens. I'm not interested in re-balancing the requirements to create them or anything else with the mod unless there's an actual bugfix that needs to happen, because it isn't mine and I don't want to pretend to claim stewardship of it.

Everything you really need to know about the machines themselves is on the original mod page. The glow map screen shot has some dull spots that I fixed after taking it.
