The Beta Wave is a cool new Gamma-based weapon based on the Gamma Gun Replacer by micalov. It was such a cool mesh, yet I really enjoyed the original gamma gun as well, so I decided to work on producing a standalone version of the weapon. But this isn't simply a Gamma Gun with a new model. The Beta Wave provides some different trade-offs that enable new styles of play for radiation/energy weapon enthusiasts. This does not require the original mod to function

This is the first mod I have ever published in order to help me learn modding, and while it's not particularly impressive, I have to give my sincerest thanks to those who helped me make this happen. I'm hoping to work on more projects in the future. Be sure to post any issues or criticisms you have, and I will see about addressing them in later updates, if I can.

The Beta Wave
The Beta Wave is a weapon modified by the Children of Atom out of the casing of a laser rifle to fire beta wave particles using Gamma Rounds. As opposed to gamma radiation waves, beta waves don`t ionize the air and don`t create an explosive splash on contact. This allows the Beta Wave gun to be far more discreet in cooking enemies to death, weaponizing radiation`s reputation for being a silent killer.
As such, the Beta Wave benefits more from stealth-related perks, yet it doesn`t directly benefit from Demolition Expert like the Gamma Gun does... That is, until the stimulated particles within a target reaches a criticality of integrity, and beta waves erupt from the victim in a violent fashion—thus resulting in an explosion upon death. This will even work if the finishing blow was not dealt by the Beta Wave.
The Beta Wave has only a handful of modifications intended to make it a little more practical later on, as well as retune the functionality of the weapon to the player's preferences. For instance, the weapon can be converted to fire regular gamma gun projectiles instead, as well as alpha particles that do not result in any explosions (to optimize for stealth). It can even be modified with the special Zetan and Lorenzo's Artifact muzzle attachments.
How to Obtain
At level 8, the Beta Wave will spawn in the Gamma Gun levelled lists, meaning it will commonly be found in the hands of the Children of Atom. There is also the unique variant, Absolute Truth, which has a Frenzy effect and was stolen by a raider with previous associations with a sect of the cult. They seemed to have locked it up in Mass Fusion Containment Shed.
