Saw the poor experimental plant all alone and on its own aboard the Prydwen, felt sorry for it, started the Creation Kit and created a new mod to give it a second chance (gonna merge this mod into Commonwealth Buff-Et later on as it's my goto mod for consumables anyway). Simple as that. ^^
NRTea is a tiny mod which allows you to plant the experimental plant in your settlements to provide 0.5 food and harvest it to create three different consumables. The goal was to stick to the original script of the vanilla game, therefore I added the little twist to these consumables that all of them are addictive to some extend. And if you don't want to join the Brotherhood of Steel, don't fret: I planted a few experimental plants on the southern border of the Commonwealth map, between Murkwater and Atomatoys (8 plants in version 1.0.3). Be careful, though: they didn't end up there by accident and the one who planted there there had an - unfortunate - encounter with the local wildlife and lost the botanical documents which cover both the plant's properties itself and the research results (iow: crafting recipes!). Picking up the documents unlocks both the planter and the new crafting recipes.
What you can craft:
You can plant NRT-0001 (obviously). Requires 1 fertilizer and 2 purified water, though - it's kinda picky.
Mentats (as an additional recipe: requires the experimental plant instead of lead and Abraxo cleaner)
Plum Mentats (Since I have been asked to cook up something new and I thought: sure, why not? +5 Luck and +15 % critical hit chance for 8 minutes, so it's more less Overdrive Light which will also stack with both that chem and my luck-based crit perk from Lucky Critter/My Little Quirks)
Antibiotics (requires thistles and lots of bloodleafs in order to craft)
NRTea (the drink mentioned in the BoS logs. Increases both your max HP and AP for 1 hour, however it is somewhat addictive and causes a Mentats-like addiction)
NRT-0001 Serum (a powerful med which restores 20 % HP, heals limbs and removes 200 RADs extremely quickly, but the sudden rush of extreme bliss and subjective vitality surge causes a low chance of an addiction similar to a fully-grown MedX addiction. When using this serum, it'll add an empty injector to your inventory, which you can recycle afterwards.)
NRT-0001 Booster (a real kicker! +2 STR and + 25 max HP for 1 minute, but has a 10 % chance of causing a Buffout addiction since it pushes the same buttons. Each injector has 5 charges, after using the last one you'll find an empty injector in your inventory as you'd do when using
the serum)
Empty Injectors (required for the NRT Serum and NRT Boosters, created in a batch of 3. They count as junk items providing 1 steel so be careful when you start building and you might have spare ones in your inventory - they're on the more expensive side to craft)
NRT Booster Pack (+20 max AP for 20 minutes, fairly easy to craft and a supplement to Skeeto Spit)
Alternative recipe for Skeeto Spit (got annoyed with searching for blood sacs all day and got tons of surplus bloodleaf in my inventory on a regular basis, sooo...)
Lunar Eclipse (similar to the shots I made for Commonwealth Buff-Et)
Oh, and since I didn't want to let the old injector mesh go to waste I replaced the Antibiotics mesh with it. That Psycho injector looks silly anyway. :P
