Beefs up the vanilla turrets in a variety of ways. Note - as the name suggests, this mod makes changes to the vanilla turrets, so any mod that does the same will not be compatible.

* Just updated this mod with different versions to give more flexibility to individual play styles! See below for differences.

All of these turrets give a higher defensive rating, or safety rating, to your settlements. So now you won't have to spam a hundred turrets to get that settlement defense rating up. In some cases these new and improved turrets have double the vanilla rating. For example, the Mk 1 - 7 basic machine gun turret gives a defensive rating of 10, instead of the vanilla 5. This is done largely to lighten the load on your game.

Buffs damage and energy resistance to most of these turrets. Adds a slight damage bonus to most of them as well, nothing too much, but you should notice most of them taking larger enemies down a little easier. Left a couple of turrets alone in regards to resistances and damage as they performed okay in vanilla - looking at you missile turret. Also gave most of them a higher level stat... which looks to be entirely cosmetic, but made sense to me.

The trade off is that now these turrets require more resources and skill to build. It never made sense to me that the sole survivor could throw together prewar Mk 1 turrets, or even jury-rigged versions, as soon as they strolled out into the Commonwealth. Now, you'll have to gain some scientific knowledge, as well as other appropriate perks pertaining to the type of turret you're trying to build, plus a good grip of resources.

The only turret that still retains its vanilla perk requirements is the shotgun turret. This poor thing was pretty much useless anyway, in my opinion. Gave it a healthy defensive buff, health bonus, and a hefty damage bonus to try to get this thing working right. It should be useful now in close ranges, or at least a lot more than the vanilla version.

This mod does not touch the spotlights.

* Balanced version ( Xbone Version ) = This is the original version for the mod. Slightly stronger turrets, with heavier recipe restrictions than vanilla. The above description was written for this version of the mod.

* Basic version ( Xbone Version ) = This has the same stat adjustments to the turrets as the balanced version, but with no changes done to the vanilla recipes.

* Beefy version ( Xbone Version ) = A substantial upgrade to the settlement turrets defense, hp, and outgoing damage, beyond anything contained in the balanced version. This version has the balanced version's heavier recipe restrictions.

* Broken version ( Xbone Version ) = All of the beefy version upgrades, with no extra recipe restrictions.

** All versions have the better settlement safety ratings for each of the vanilla turrets.

Happy defending!
