About this mod

Increases the volume and modifies the direction (with HRTF) and distance fading of all NPCs footsteps on all materials, including jumping and sprinting, the goal is to give useful gameplay information to the player about enemy positioning

Have you ever noticed how silent NPCs are when they move in Fallout 4? they sound incorporeal and lack physicality, in this mod I plan to fix this!
I tried some alternatives but the sounds were either too loud, too distracting or otherwise not playing nice with mods like Reverb and Ambiance Overhaul, that's why I've built this mod from a modlist that already includes the most common audio overhauls and tweaks that the community created, as such this mod may not play perfectly in the vanilla soundscape but I went conservative enough just to avoid issues



Another thing I'm working on is giving a proper audio fade that accurately informs the player on the source of the sound, its distance and location based on the material it's on, with carpets and dirt sounding muffled compared to boots on wood or steel. The goal of this is making distant and extremely close footsteps sounding appropriately muffled and never absurdly loud or weak, needs tweaking still but it sounds decent already, judge it by the video and if you like it download it!
