About this mod

Use the "Special Module" menu list to adjust the size (scale) of your created bot.

NOTE: When building bots, use the menu for changing sizes last. The game's 'setscale' script re-runs after every scroll to a new part, and weird stuff can happen when scrolling around too quickly. (Honestly, I've never seen any other game so logically 'leaky').

  • This mod lets you select between 4 preset bot sizes, in 2 different types. OR you can also install/remove the M-SAT, or have no selection.
  • There is no cap/scrap/junk/part cost for choosing a new bot size. All but one size have play balance statistics added.
  • The choices are under the "Special Module" sub-menu. This mod builds on 'woundwort's' Remove Special Mods - Automatron DLC - M-SAT. This mod retains that previous mod's functionality.
  • This can work with Automatron Special Defense Assembly (ASDA) Module, but you have to choose either to resize your bot or use their features. Not both.

(new for v0.5) IF you can get "Buddy" the beer bot or "Deezer" into the robot workbench, you can now tweak their scale.
This means you need the Moddable Buddy and/or Moddable Deezer mod by CDante.
I wondered about being able to tweak Buddy without his mod, but after some code plunking, I realized I was rebuilding the same mod from scratch that he already built. No point being that silly, so I've asked him to add a single line to make my mod work with his. In the meantime, my mod is currently doing an override to his torso OMOD file so they work together. This means my mod has to load after his. Here's to hoping he tweaks his instead.
His "Moddable Deezer" was a little more tricky. Deezer was neither protected or essential, so I made it at least protected. He also didn't have enough health, so I upped it from 50 to about 239 or so.

(new for v0.4) The two types per size are BASIC and DELUXE. BASIC versions merely change bot size. Deluxe also adjust Health, Carry Weight, and Walking Speed.

The four sizes are as follows:
  • SetScale 0.8: Use this size to make a treaded trackbot normal scale. Normally, the game increases bot size when you select track legs. This reverses that, and can be used to make a trackbot the same size as the robobrain bots in "Far Harbor". Or you can use this size to make a cute little bot. This size scale was used by user 'redportal' for his 'Cutie Teddy' companion bot. My 'Pookie' bot is an example of re-creating that companion.
Deluxe SetScale 0.8 reduces bot health by 120. Reduces carry weight by 20. Increases movement speed by 20% (the adjusted movement speed ends up the same, because the smaller bot takes smaller steps).
  • SetScale 0.85: When you add Speedy Protectron Legs for Automatrons (or any assaultron legs) to another bot type, the overall bot size increases. This scale is to reset it to normal. Consult the pictures of my red and blue Protectrons for an example of this. There is no Deluxe version for this size scale.
  • SetScale 1.1: This scale makes a bot slightly more heroic in stature. This scale is used by user 'redportal' for his 'General Rowdy' and 'Onslaught' companion characters. Or was it 1.08? I can't remember. 1.1 seems close enough, yeah?
Deluxe SetScale 1.1 increases bot health by 120, increases carry weight by 30, and decreases movement speed by 10%.
  • SetScale 1.25: This scale is just BIG. 'Setscale 1.25' is already built into the game, used to set the increased size for track bots (I think). This is about the largest size you would want a companion bot, considering you may need to squeeze it indoors or underground.
Deluxe SetScale 1.25 will also increase bot health by 200, increase carry weight by 60, and decrease movement speed by 15%.

Purpose: This mod doesn't change all that much regarding game play. It's more for lore and ambiance - like getting different color curtains for your hovel, or even to be used as a modder's resource. Regarding that... this latest version also has entries with no secondary attributes, so people can use this simply as a size changer.

Installation: This is a single esp file. Drop it into your data folder, or use Vortex or NMM to do it automagically.

Uninstalling: If you feel you need to, there are no special scripts to run. There should be, but I don't know how yet. Keep in mind that bots who have had their size adjusted remain this way even after the mod is removed. If you reinstall the mod, things don't just straighten out. You may need to cycle through all the sizes to clear previous settings. Alternatively, you can make sure all settings are reset by dowsing your computer with kerosene and setting it on fire. Or at least the settings will matter a lot less after that.

Known Issues:
► 'Buddy' now works if you have the Moddable Buddy (Automatron) mod. Same for Deezer if you have the Moddable Deezer (Automatron) mod.
► 'Jezebel' seems to work fine now.
► Again, it's probably best to set all bots to normal scale when updating this mod. I never do, mostly because I'm curious to see how stuff blows up. It's not bad, and not all that difficult to fix the assorted bot that might regress back to a bare naked Protectron. FWIW, I think this mod's finished, and I shouldn't need to futz with it again any time soon. I've learned a lot, and had some fun with it.

Let me know of any exploits or neat things you discover while using it.
This is my first mod here. Let me know if anything explodes, implodes, or quietly winks out of existence.
