THIS MOD DOESN'T GIVE TO YOUR FOLLOWERS UNLIMITED AMMO!!!!!
IT'S THE OPPOSITE!!!!!
With this you can remove magical companion ammo or weapons
and your companion needs ammo just like the player character.
Remade from scratch, more user-friendly because in new versions
you can interact with the special CompanionAmmo or
the unplayable weapons in your follower's inventory.
Also, you can use their unplayable weapons in combat.
"Technically", in the (simple) option I've just changed
the companion ammo type from unplayable status to playable
and the names to recognize them easily.
In the (advanced) option I've changed the unplayable weapons
to playable, their required ammo to normal ammo and
I've changed companion's ammo level lists to spawn some normal ammo.
Left untouched the CompanionAmmo spawn in level lists to avoid issues in case of uninstallation.
(I tested this, but I need your help for a better and extensive test to be 100% sure)
I've also changed the weapon names when possible to recognize them easily.
It works for humans, ghouls and synths....no robots for this version
because their weapons don't have a usable model for the player.
It's all! Very easy.
TRY NOT TO LOSE AMMO OR WEAPONS TO RETURN THEM TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS WHEN UNINSTALLING!!!!!
BETTER IN CONJUNCTION WITH (BUT IT DOESN'T REQUIRE)....

TO INSTALL....
Backup your save games, mandatory for all the mods.
Copy your favorite Followers Ammo (UN)LIMITED.esp in the Data directory of the game and activate using the mod manager.
or
Copy your favorite Followers Ammo (UN)LIMITED.esp in the Data directory of the game and add the name in your
plugins.txt file placed in AppData/Local/Fallout4 directory for a manual installation.
Also, you can install both versions to have full control and for debugging purposes.
TO UNINSTALL....
Just give back the marked weapons or ammo to your follower/s, save the game and delete the files installed.
TO UPGRADE....
Follow the uninstall process, then the installation.
