This aims to help people who are having darkness/brightness issues with the ENB "Improved and Expanded Everything 2 - Beyond Quality And Immersion"

I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but the ENB by default was often way too dark or way too bright for me. It didn't appear to have proper ENB Adaption settings being used. I heavily modified the ENB Adaption settings, as well as other FOG/Lighting tweaks. This one took me a couple hours to get right. This is subjective on how your weather mod behaves, as well as your monitor display.

As explained below, this is a standalone ENB. You do not need any other existing ENB files. I advise reading the notes below.

Important Notes:

  • Backup your ENB (if you have one existing) before you install this one!
  • You do NOT need to have the 'Improved and Expanded' ENB installed already. This is a modified version of it, not a simple patch. It requires no existing ENB.
  • SETFOG!!!!!! Mine was 'setfog 150 350000' (that is 350,000 with no comma). This fix was created using my own custom setfog parameter. You might be wondering, "how TF do I do that? And WTF does it do?". Well, unlike many other mods, I shall explain. When you load up the game, open the console using the ~ key (to the left of number 1 on your keyboard). Without the quotes, type "setfog 150 350000" and hit enter. Press the '~' key again to close the console. What does that do? It begins the fog around 150 feet from you, and expands a dense layer of fog out to a distance of 350000. If the fog seems too dense, try a larger number like 'setfog 200 600000'. My personal take on this is that Fallout 4 is an older game. Because of this, it is easier to see a loss of detail at a distance. Adding more fog kinda helps hide that, plus it's supposed to be a somewhat creepy world anyways.
NOTE -- that this is also subjective to your weather mod. Some weather mods have foggy weather types that are overly foggy, and in the same mod you will find clear mods that are overly clear. So keep in mind that even if the current weather condition appears too foggy for you, it might be worth it if your weather mod has overly clear weather types mixed in. Play around with it. See the next step on how.
  • TEST IT - Change the timescale of your game into a super timelapse mode (you can change this back). By default, your games timescale is 16.1 (meaning 16.1 seconds goes by in game for every 1 second in real life). Change it by typing "set timescale to 1500". That is decently fast, but not too fast. 500 is slow and smooth, 3000 if you want to cycle through them fast. Once you're done, change it back to 16.1 or slower if you'd like :)
  • If your ENB is overly too dark or bright, quickly press the "~" key to temporarily prevent mouse movement changing your aim and freeze time, press shift+enter to open the ENB menu, and change the 'Auto Exposure Bias (log2 scale)' setting under 'ENBADAPTATION.FX' menu (right side menu)
From there, you can also go to the left side menu and adjust fog settings under FOG on the left side. Once you're done, click on save configuration and apply. Then shift+enter again to close the settings menu, and "~" to close the console.
